This is my independent study project , which is authorized by a Design Professor,Sylva Kathryn, at University of Cali-fornia, Davis in 2011 Fall.

In this project, I selected an regular object my daily life, which is an onion, and applied my design knowledge and skills, my instinct of being a designer to create views, mood and pattern about an onion, which is different from our general expectation about an onion. Creation can be subjective, however, viewers should be inspired and con-nected.

An onion is a vegetable that we eat normally. It has two different colors: red and white onion; it has two favors: bitter and sweeten. As I learnt in my childhood, an onion normally tasted spicy, bitter and it is not a food for a child. However, today I love eating onion because it does not taste bitter any more but sweet for me. Does my taste change or an onion change ?

An onion is recognizable as a circular, fat bulk body and roots locating at the top, which look like its hair. One thing that everyone would remember about an onion is its irritation to eyes and make us cry. An onion is steady, strong simple in its outer look, unless you cut it. It is an object will full inspiration of shape, form, pattern and mood. An onion is like an knowl-edge designer, who has a lot of great ideas inside. You would not know it or see it, but you will be inspired when you get a way to open it. If your feeling inspired, please show.
