HALSNEADA UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY...
HALSNEAD GARDEN VILLAGE
Halsnead is a unique and exciting development opportunity and a key part of the council’s
ambitious growth plans for Knowsley.
Halsnead Garden Village will be a new, vibrant community with a range of high quality housing,
new employment opportunities, a new country park, a new primary school and improvements to
other community and outdoor facilities.
Situated on the motorway network, at the junction of the M62 and M57, Halsnead benefits from
easy access to both Liverpool and Manchester and occupies a prominent position on the
‘Central Strategic Investment Corridor’.
There is the potential to develop 1,600 new homes alongside 22.5 hectares of employment
development, which is ideal for logistics, storage and distribution sectors, with excellent
connectivity to the motorway network, the Port of Liverpool and Liverpool and Manchester airports.
The Framework Plan outlines the
spatial parameters that will form the
foundation for all future development at
Halsnead Garden Village.
The site also benefits from links to rail, bus and national cycle routes, making it easy to get around
locally and with access into the wider North West region.
Formerly the Halsnead Park Estate, it is a place of rich diverse landscapes, woodland and
water, with pockets of intrigue and beauty. Many of the sites natural and historical assets will
be preserved and enhanced to create living environments that are in touch with nature, helping
people to make the most of outdoor life and making it a place to relax and recharge.
Knowsley Council has a clear ambition for this to be an exemplary residential development with
Garden Village principles at its heart. The council will work with developers and landowners to
realise this ambition and create a new community which benefits the whole of Knowsley.
The Masterplan SPD will help to guide development in the area to achieve this ambition.
