Mamoutou Dembélé or “EMDE” is from Sikasso, Mali. Descending Bwa (or Bobo), an ethnic group from Mali, he fuses the Bwa language with Bambara. He plays instruments of different ages and traditions and creates his own instruments. His sounds take viewers to the very origins of traditional bwa music. With its rare and unique harmonies, West Africa is unveiled in a Mandingo blues style with jazz, funk and reggae accents.
