The Phlebotomy Technician Program is a 240-hour course that is comprised of a 40-hour eLearning phase to start, coupled with a 100 hour classroom session blended with eLearning, followed by a minimum 100-hour clinical externship with 120 unaided collections. Both day and evening classroom schedules are available. Students must be flexible with externship placement.
The successful culmination of your eLearning, classroom and clinical externship will result in a certificate of completion. As an option, students desiring to become an ASCP Certified Phlebotomy Technician (PBT (ASCP)) can take the test offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) at one of three Phoenix locations.
AMTI's Phlebotomy program is approved by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education and is nationally approved by the National Accrediting Agency for the Clinical Laboratory Sciences. NAACLS is the premier international agency for accreditation and approval of education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences and related health care professions. AMTI is the only Arizona school to have achieved this.
Course Tuition is $2,065.00. Tuition includes all textbooks, lab materials, CPR/FA and TB Test (by serum), uniform top, technology fee, clincal fee and supply fee. It does not include immunizations, students will incur the cost of immunizations if not up to date.
Students, at the time of registration, can pay the tuition in full, apply for a MACU educational loan, or utilize a 2, 3 or 6-payment approach in meeting the tuition requirements.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Copy of High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
Completed Health Declaration that you can complete all essential functions & all required immunizations.
Current CPR at Health Care Provider level & First Aid.
Students must read/sign Safety and Infection Control Policy & Voluntary Assumption of Risk, HIPPA Policy, Laboratory Rules and Externship Agreement.
Students must be willing to submit to a drug test and/or criminal background check, if requested.

Complete 40 eLearning hours, plus 100 classroom and 100 clinical hours with 120 unaided collections.
Score 80% or higher on classroom exams, 80% or higher on clinical grades, and 80% or higher on the course final exam. Complete externships with positive preceptor evaluations @ 85%.
Optional: ASCP national certification exam leading to a PBT (ASCP) designation = $135.00
Optional: AMT (RPT) national certification exam = $120.00
3-month payment plan requires $30 finance fee and $25 setup fee. 6-month plan is $30 finance fee and $45 setup fee. Setup fees are paid to Nelnet/eCashier.
REGISTRATION:Students must complete and sign the Phlebotomy Enrollment Agreement, read and sign an acknowledgement of having read the AMTI Student Handbook/Catalogue as well as the documents noted under “Program Prerequisites.”

This is a blended program. The student will complete 40 hours of eLearning in AMTI’s eClassroom comprising Chapters 1-6, pass midterm and provide proof of immunizations and medical clearance certifying all essential functions can be performed as reviewed by a medical doctor, prior to classroom start date. Students must complete an assigned, unpaid externship meeting a minimum of 100-120 hours and 120 successful unaided collections at a CLIA approved laboratory.
