Dear Readers, I am glad to present the 4th Issue of Amritha Varshini. I am indeed thankful for the sup-port rendered by everyone in spreading the news of „Amritha Varshini‟. The magazine which is in the infant stage is evoking good response and many have shown interest in subscribing the magazine. As informed earlier, part of the proceeds is being utilized to support „Veda Pata Shala‟. We have started contributing to „Sri Chandrasekhara Bharati Sri Chandrasekhara Saraswati Veda Vidyala Trust‟ located at Coimba-tore, which is being run by Brahmashri Jambunatha Ganapatigal. You may visit their website www.sriccvvtrust.org to know more about the Vedapatashala. In this issue we are starting a new series titled „Relief from Sorrow from bed of Ar-row‟ wherein we have planned to study with meaning about the glorious Vishnu Sahas-ranama. The Sahasranama when chanted will definitely relieve a person who is afflicted with whatever sorrow state of mind and shall give him the required peace of mind. In the Anugraha Bhashanam, Kanchi Mahaperiyava advises that one should not en-gage in finding faults of others and even a little good is there, the same should be admired. I think this piece of advice will definitely help us have better relationship with others and will help reduce unwanted misunderstanding. The Sthalapuranam covers the twin temples located at Koyambedu, in Chennai, where the temples of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu is located very close to each other. The Kumb-habhishekam for the Shiva temple was completed recently and I was fortunate to visit this temple. Those who are in Chennai and those who visit Chennai please don‟t miss to visit this twin temples. The Katha Kalakshepam section covers an interesting episode from Ramayana about the story of Bhagirtha and the effort taken by him in bringing the sacred river Ganges from the heaven to redeem his ancestors. Sri Sarma Sastrigal emphasis that the Vedas should be approached with a religious ap-proach and cannot be viewed or commented from a scientific approach. The behavior of Nayanmars are beyond the reach of any ordinary devotees which made them to classify as „Nayanmars‟ who could sacrifice anything for the Lord which is re-vealed in the story of Meiporual Nayanar. Please don‟t miss this story to read. The Guru Samarpanam carries the narration of Agnihotram Sri Ramanuja Thathacha-riar who undertook the mission of Sri Kanchi Mahaperiyava in making “religion and its various institution” to perform independently through making necessary draft / correc-tions in the „Constitution‟. „Ramanaarpanam‟ carries the article about the Maharshi‟s mother Smt Azhagammal. This article carries touching incidents in the life of Azha-gammal and Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. I have just touched upon only few articles covered in this issue, leaving the balance to readers. Thanks to all those who have given their valuable feedback. I hereby request all my readers to send their feedback and comments which is the real tonic which energize me to write, so please don't forget to share your feedback and com-ments. Happy Reading & Warm Regards AV Devan Chennai – 29/4/2012

Feedback and Suggestions from readers I N B O X

Dear Anand, Thanks for sending the March issue of Amritha Varshini. The trend can clearly be seen. It is becoming an Encyclopedic Store-House of Information and rare pictures. It is most wide-encompassing and the labour of love and devotion manifests in each write-up and the multifarious topics covered. Hats Off Anand for building the brick-by brick Pillar of Knowledge, a la Dravidesque Effort. SURELY THE GODS MUST BE HAPPY.

Best Regards, Ramanarayanan, AR ([email protected])

Dear Anand Thank you very much for your foresight in launching Amritha-varshini. It is a delight to read and reflect on it. I learn a lot from reading it. In this day and age such reading is necessary to uplift one's spiritual knowledge. My best wishes for the continued success of your Amritavarshini. May it grow and benefit many more.

Dear Anand, “The magazine is wonderful. Keep it up.”

with best wishes, J. Radhakrishnan ([email protected])

Dear Shri Vasudevan, At the outset, kudos on the useful and valuable

information lucidly presented through Amrithavarshini.

Best Wishes, Vaduvur Dasarathy.

Dear Editor, Amritha Varshini The three issues so far shows a healthy grow and we wish Amritha Varshini should keep it up. Giving Purani Stories will teach how our ancestors lived and bring out their nobility. Publishing about Temples (Sthalams), not only gives its history, grandeur and honour but also leads one to reach such places when visiting India. It almost covers every unit in Hinduism such as Veda, Stothirams, Music and Dance, History of our Seers and Saints, Philosophy etc. etc. Though I earlier suggested to give notice in media such as Yahoo, it is very costly now I have another idea that the present members who have blogs (Google blogspot) could put a note about Amritha Varshini so that readers could come to know. This magazine is a must because it gives so many information and explanations that should and could reach people with other faiths and bring them to understand what is Hinduism, the Sanadhana Dharma. If we elaborate it will take pages so I stop here. Regards, Sathanantha Sarma ([email protected])

Dear Anand It is honestly, "Anandam" reading your every editions as it carries informations needed by everyone in life today. Your efforts to complie many informations is com-mandable. Perhaps, you can give chance to every reader to post some religious in-fromations, speeches of various Legands, Scholors, Worship related suggestions in a column..which might make the unknown to know many things. Kindly have this considred. My sincere Pranams to you for the service you are doing. Best Wishes, S. Jagannathan ([email protected])
