We are so foolish about death. We will not learn How it is wages paid to those who earn,
How it is a gift for which on earth we yearn To be set free from bondage to the flesh;
How it is winning Heaven's eternal gain, How it means freedom evermore from pain,
How it untangles every mortal mesh . . . We forget that it means only life . . .
Life with all joy, peace , rest, and glory rife, The victory won and ended all strife.

The family of the late Mr. Grady Ingram wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the many friends who gave of their time and energy during our bereavement. Words are inadequate to express our gratitude. May God continue to richly bless each of you.

DEACON GRADY LEROY INGRAM departed this life June 13, 2007, at the Georgia
War Veterans Home. Grady lived on Rachel Street in Augusta, Georgia for over 50
years. He was the son of the late Earnest and Jettie Ingram, born September 6, 1925,
in Hancock County, Georgia.
Grady attended the public schools in Hancock County and received his diploma from

At an early age, he was baptized at Union Baptist Church of Sparta, Georgia. After
moving to Augusta, Georgia, he united with the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church,
where he served faithfully as a Deacon until his health failed. The spiritual experience
here, touched Grady deeply and he came to love this great church, pastor, officers,
and members. They responded by loving him in return .
Grady was married to the late Lydia Bowman Ingram. To this union two children were
born, Larry and Tyrone (Ronnie) who preceded him in death.
Grady served in the United States Army and in the Korean War. He retired in 1981 , as
a federal employee. Grady was a master mason and member of VFW Post #505.
Those pilgrims who will continue to tread this earthly sojourn while holding fondly and
dearly to his legacy are: two granddaughters, Veronica R. Ingram and Cherita E.
