Again we say there is only oneRosicrucian ORDER in America with regular  Lodges established in each State and largecity, and that is the AM OR C. The wordsSociety, Fellowship and Brotherhood soundmuch like the names of a fraternal Order , butthey are not the same in meaning or intent.

ticism, real Light, real power comes from the'Cosmic but dwells in the bodies here on the  earth plane, and that while we as humans liveon this plane we m ust master the 'problems of this life and keep our feet upon the earth. We were not intended to live in the clouds or to deny or negate the material problems, testsand trials , but to master them and therebyevolve. Fo r this reason the real system, the

true philosophy making for mastership is thatone which is practical and applicable to theeveryday, common affairs of life, brings per-fect health, success in all our undertakings, love of all mankind in our consciousness, andattunem ent with the Go d of our souls. Sucha schooling or philosophy, practical in everystep, with each step proven and demonstrated,is found in the Ancient and Mystical Order Ro sae Crucis. This is the exp lana tion tomak e. This is the Key tha t seekers are search-ing for. Ho ld it as a symbol before the com-  prehension of seekers and they will recognizeit. The dream er and impractical mystic hasno place in our Order, for he is of no value

to ma nkind . His w orld is in the clouds.---------- o----------

The unnecessary introduction of matters  pertaining to “sex relationship” and ancientse x worship into some of the socalled mystic  philosophies and occult books of today is notonly disgusting to the clean and wholesomemind, but it indicates a revival of a period of looseness and animal instincts which markedone phase of m an ’s primitive evolution. Itcaters to the low, debased, sensuous minds stillwearing a cloak of civilized advancement.Bew are of it I It is a mo st insidious subject;it is subtle and tem pting. It has no place in

true Rosicrucian teachings. Seek in eve ry old  book, every old manuscript of the writingsand philosophies of the ancient Rosicruciansand you will find no reference to this “sex

THE DISCONTINUANCE OF DUESFor some time the Supreme Officers of our

Order have been annoyed with the detai ls of  keeping accurate records of dues paid bymembers to each Lodge and the Royal Sup-  port percentage paid by each Lodge to th§Suprem e Lodge. A recent attem pt to securSfrom each Lodge a detailed report of duescollected during the year with a lis t of theactive, duepaying members has shown usthat too much attention is paid in regard tothe details of financial matters with too littlestress upon the fact that the giving of mopeytoward the work is of secondary importance'1in the daily activities of the Supreme Execu-

tives. Our utmo st and conce ntrated att/htion should be given to the constructive and

spiritual work of the O rder and jar as pos-sible we should not have financial records, de-tailed reports and “monthly Statements” tocontend with as a routir.e^fceatore of our work.

W ere it possible we i n ouid do away withthe paym ent o f a n y iponey by any m em ber  and carry on the great work with funds given  by the few who have given their lives to themission of their jiresen t incarna tions. Butthis is not possiB’e and we must dependupon the financial support of all our mem-  bers who are able to support the work.In each Jtodge we have members whohave not been able to meet the regular dues and we have been glad to havethem with us and accept our love and help.It has been a principle and law with the Im

perator of our Order, decreed at the first'National Convention, that no applicant who

was deemed worthy of membership in theO jder was to be re fused initiation if he or shedid not have or could not really afford the

initiation fee. O ur organ ization is prob ablythe only secret , f raternal Order in the countrywhich has continued to accept such men andwomen as a re wor thy bu t unab le to pay the

initiation fee. It is no t a thing to boast of,  but something which should typify our att i-tude in regard to financial matters.

But, we wish now to have the Lodges andour members look upon another plan whichthe Imperator has had in mind since the es-tablishm ent of the O rder. It is this: shall we

suspend all f ixed dues and have no stated feesof any kind? In other words, shall we putthe matter upon a voluntary donation basis,leaving each member to give each month sucham ount as he or she can afford to give? Thiswould bring about two very desirable condi-tions: First, eliminating the necessity of keep-ing accurate records by each Lodge Secretaryso far as paym ents by individual m emb ers areconcerned, and the keeping of complex rec-ords by the Supreme Secre tary and Treasurer ;

secondly, it would p ut all me mbers upon thesame basis, a most logical basis,— that of giv-ing what they can afford without any onefeeling that he or she is accepting a suspen-sion or reduc tion of dues. So far as the in-come to the Supreme Lodge is concerned, we  believe this plan will bring the same results,  possibly m ore and pro ba bly less. It is amooted point which is not of the utmost im-

  portance at this time.

Another po in t tha t would be so lved bythis plan is that whereas under the presentsystem we have two accounts with all Lodges, the Royal Suppor t account and the “Main-

tenance and Extension Fund” (which in-

cludes only dona tions) , the new plan would  bulk all remittances as voluntary Royal Sup-  port and thereby do away with the existence

of the M. and E. Fund, which has never    pleased the Impe rator . Each Lodge wouldsend month ly an amount equal l ing whatever  i t can spare from the voluntary donations or  voluntary dues given to i t by its mem bers. Areceipt for this amount would be sent to eachLodge Secretary and each Lodge could see

what i t was con tr ibu t ing each month towardthe funds of the S uprem e Lodge. 1 his

would simplify bookkeeping, i t would encour-age members to give freely when they couldand no t embar rass them when they d id no t

give as freely or at al l for some months.

The great blessing of this plan would beto take from our organization the unfair cr i t i-

cism that we "place a price” on our teachings  by demanding certain f ixed dues, even thoughthey are small. I t would place our work upon a basis of voluntary support entirely, thisto apply also to initiation fees as well asm onthly dues. Th e Imp erator wishes eachLodge to discuss this and vote upon i t at the

meetings during the last part of March andsubmit the result of the vote to the SupremeSecretary by April f irst so that we may estab-lish this custom at once if it meets with theapp roval of the Lodges. Let us be able tosay to all inquirers more strongly than ever," i t does not take money to receive our teach-ings, it requires only a desire that is sincere.

Give if you can, if you cannot, come andshare with us w hat we have anyway. If youare blessed with material things and give of  them freely ye shall receive o f spiritual things

just as freely. Th e giving is me asure d only  by the stand ard of wh at can be given. Inlike manner do we give unto you.”
