PREPARATION FOR USEUNPACKING AND SET UP

Carefully remove all the components from the display carton and verifythat you have all the necessary components before you dispose of thedisplay carton.Remove all packing materials from the individual components. Removeany descriptive labels that may be attached to the front panel of the mainunit. Do not remove any labels or stickers on the back panels of the mainunit or the speakers.Place all the components in the desired location. This system is designedto be used on level, stable, flat surface such as a table, desk, shelf, orstand, convenient to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away fromsources of excess heat, dust, moisture, or vibration.Unwind the AC power cord on the back of the unit and extend the cord toits full length.

CAUTION – To reduce the risk of personal injury or product/property damage:

WARNING: Only adults should handle batteries. Do not allow a child to use this product unless the Battery Compartment Cover is securely attached to the Battery Compartment in accordance with all product usage instructions.

This product is intended for indoor, non-industrial, non-commercial use;do not use the product outdoors.

Make sure the AC power cord from this unit is properly connected toa 230V 50Hz household AC power outlet.

Make sure that the minimum distance around the whole unit forsufficient ventilation is 10cm.

) Setting the Clock and Date

When the system is connected to the AC outletfor the first time, time “ ” 0: 00 & Date “1-01” willshow on the display screen.

1) By STANDBY mode, press and holdMODE button on the top panel or theremote control. to enter Clock set mode.“24 H” will show and flash on the displayindicating that the clock is set for 24 hourformat time.

2) Press TUNE/SKIP button on the toppanel or remote control once to change theclock format to 12 hour format time.The display will change from “24H” to“12H”.

3) Press the MODE button to confirm. Thehour digit “0” will begin flashing. PressTUNE/SKIP button on the top panel orremote control to set the hour. PressMODE button to confirm.

REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY

REMOTE CONTROL BATTERYThe remote control requires one “button-type” "CR2025" 3-volt lithium battery,

To extend the life of the original battery we have inserted a small clear plasticspacer tab between the lithium battery and the battery terminal. You mustremove this battery spacer tab before you can use the remote control.To remove the tab, pull it in the direction of the arrow in the illustration as shown.

When the operation of the remote control becomes intermittent orunsatisfactory, replace the battery with a new one.1.) Slide out the battery holder from the remote control case.2.) Place one 3V CR2025 battery in the battery holder, make sure the polarity (the + and - side of the battery) is correct. Wrong polarity may damage the unit and the remote control will not work.

CAUTION: Danger of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. Replaceonly with the same or equivalent type.

3.) Replace the battery holder back in the remote control.

Notes: If the unit is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteryto prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.Use only the specified size and type of the battery.

4) While hour is confirmed, minute digit “00”will begin flashing. Press TUNE/SKIP button onthe top panel or remote control to set theminute. Press MODE button to confirm.

5) While minute is set, the day of week “MON”will begin flashing. Press TUNE/SKIP button onthe top panel or remote control to set the day.Press MODE button to confirm.

6) While the day is set, “1” in the Date boxwill begin flashing for month setting . PressTUNE/SKIP button on the top panel or remotecontrol to set the month. Press MODE buttonto confirm.

7) “01” in the Date box will begin flashing forday setting. Press TUNE/SKIP button on thetop panel or remote control to set the day.Press MODE button to confirm.

Leap Year AdjustmentsAt 12:00 Midnight on “02-28” in leap year, the calendar display will change to“03-01”. Reset the day to “02-28” as there is no “02-29” in clock system.

) ALARM 1/ 2 SET

You can only set your Alarm mode while in Standby mode.

A. Set Alarm 1

1) While the unit is in STANDBY , pressand hold ALARM 1 button on the top panel for2 sec. and the hour digit “ 0 ” will beginflashing. Press TUNE/SKIP button to setthe hour. Press “ALARM 1” button to confirm.

2) Minute digit “00” will begin flashing, press“TUNE/SKIP” button to set the minute. Press“ALARM 1” button to confirm.

3) Date display bar will begin flashing, press TUNE/SKIP button to select thefollowing alarm mode.

EVERYDAY MODE(ALL Days showing ondisplay) – the alarm will turn on all theseven days of the week;

WEEKDAYS MODE (MON - FRI showing on display ) – the alarm will only turnon Monday to Friday;

WEEKENDS MODE (SUN & SAT showingon display ) – the alarm will only turnon Saturday and Sunday.

Press ALARM 1 button to confirm.

This serves as a dust cover that can beinserted in the docking station if no iPod will be connectedto this unit for an extended period of time. Remove this dustcover before use.

4) Press TUNE/SKIP button on top panel or remote control to select previousor next song.

5) Press the VOLUME + / VOLUME – button on top panel or remote control toadjust the VOLUME level of this unit as desired.

Control iPod menu by REMOTE CONTROL only

Press MODE button on the remote control, the iPod will go to the previousmenu. Press IPOD UP/ IPOD DOWN button on the remote control to selectup or down of the iPod menu; then press the ENTER button to enter selectedmenu.

B. LISTEN TO FM RADIO

NOTE: Unwind and extend FM antenna to its fulllength. It may be necessary to adjust the direction of thiswire antenna until you find the best position of receptionfor your favorite FM stations.

1) Press STANDBY/SOURCE button on the top panel or remote control topower on the unit. Press STANDBY/ SOURCE button again to select FM function.

2) FM frequency will show on the right corner box ofthe display, it indicates function is in FM Radio mode.

3) Tune to the desired frequency as follows:

a) Automatic Tuningi)

ii) The tuner will search the frequency for the next strong station and stop on that station. Repeat this procedure until the tuner stops on your desired station.

Press and hold TUNE/SKIP button on the top panel or remotecontrol for 2 sec., auto tuning will start.

b) Manual TuningRepeatedly press the TUNE/SKIP buttons on the top panel or remotecontrol until the frequency of the desired station appears on thedisplay.

4) Preset FM stations in the tuner memory

This unit includes a 20 stations preset memory. You can store up to 10FMstations and 10 AM stations in the tuner memory for immediate recall. Theprocedure for storing stations in memory is as follows:

a) Preset FM channeli) Follow 3)a)ii) under LISTENING TO FMRADIO to select the first station you wish tostore and the FM frequency will show onright corner box of the display

the. For example:

FM 106.2 MHz.

ii) Press MODE button on the top panel or remote control, the presetchannel number “01” begins flashing on the display

iii) Press MEMORY UP / DOWN button on the top panel or remotecontrol to select the preset channel (CH 01 to CH10)

iv) Press MODE button on the top panel or remote control again toconfirm.

v) Repeat step i) to iv) until you have memorized up to 10 stationsPress MEMORY+/- button on the top panel or remote control to listento preset FM channel CH01-CH10 at FM mode.

Note: The saved preset stations will be lost if the AC Power isinterrupted and the backup battery is not inserted.

C. LISTEN TO AM RADIO

1) Press STANDBY/SOURCE button on the top panel or remote controll topower on the unit. Press POWER/ SOURCE button again to select AM function

D. iPod CHARGING

If iPod is connected to the unit, iPod will charge automatically at eitherSTANDBY Mode, iPod Mode, FM Mode or AUX Mode.

Note: For better AM reception , iPod will not charge during AM mode.

IV) AUXILIARY IN

Connect the Audio Output jacks of your auxiliary sound source (TV, VCR, DVDPlayer, Cassette Deck, Mini Disc player, etc., ) to the AUX IN jack on therear panel of the unit. The auxiliary function will only activate when theaux in jack is fitted with connection cableNote: The connection cable is not included.

1) Press POWER/SOURCE button on the toppanel or remote control to select Auxfunction. “AUX” will show on the rightcorner box of the display and indicatesfunction enter AUX mode.

2) Turn your auxiliary source ‘On’ and operate it as usual. The sound from theauxiliary source will be heard through the speakers of this system.

3) Adjust the VOLUME level controls of this system as your desired.

V )VIDEO OUT

When iPod Video is plugged into this unit, the video can be viewed on an externaldisplay by connecting the VIDEO OUT jack to the desired video display ( videoconnection cable is not included).

Remarks: Please make sure the TV Out is set to ON in the iPod VideoSetting menu. Otherwise the video signal will not be able toshow on the display. (For more details instruction, please check theiPod Video Instruction Manuel.)

During

Connect the Audio Output jacks of your active subwoofer to the SUBWOOFER OUT jack on the back panel of the unit. Then the unit will become a 2.1 system and the bass would be able to sound from the external active subwoofer.

Note: The connection cables and active subwoofer are not included.

RESETTINGIf the system does not respond, you may have experienced an electrostatic discharge (ESD) or a power surge that triggered the internal computerto shut down automatically. If this occurs,simply disconnect the main powerneed take out the backup batteries and connect the main power again afterone minute.

Note: Disconnecting the power will unlock the internal computer after apower surge, it will also erase all of the settings. After turning ‘On’ , youwill need to reset the settings again.

Back Up FunctionIf the AC supply is interrupted, the clock displayand Radio preset stations will go off and all settingswill be cancelled. To back up the clock and presetstations, insert two “AA” size batteries ( not supplied )in the battery compartment in the base of the unit.The back up battery is not for iPod operation.

Note : Always use alkaline type battery and always

CARE AND MAINTENANCECARE OF THE CABINETIf the cabinet becomes dusty only wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax,aerosol polish sprays, or abrasive cleaners on the cabinet.
