The SMART Goal

• Goal 1: Crest FFA will enlist the help of the Cleveland County Farm Bureau to plan and implement "Fatal Vision“ for all Spring 2008 agriculture classes. Fatal Vision is a Farm Bureau sponsored project to warn young people of the dangers of drinking and driving. Participants will wear goggles designed to simulate drunk driving and will maneuver a golf cart through an obstacle course.

• Goal 1: After receiving permission from assistant principal Joel Hoyle, Matt Harris will contact Brenda Condrey and Myron Edwards of Cleveland County Farm Bureau to determine their interest in conducting the Fatal Vision program. Chapter secretary Zach McNamara will then meet with Mr. Edwards to discuss possible dates for the event, the time length of the program, materials needed, and the maximum group size for the demonstration. This meeting will take place on Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Farm Bureau office.

Students grow their own bedding plants from plugs as an FFA

fundraiser using 3 greenhouses. They are responsible for mixing the

growing medium, transplanting, mixing the fertilizers, and

manipulating the greenhouse environment. They based this on each crop’s light, moisture, and temperature needs at specific

stages of growth.
