The fight for womens right to vote continued until the passing of the 19th amendment in 1920

+The 23rd AmendmentSince the late 1700s people living in the District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.) were not allowed to vote in national electionsPassed in 1961, this amendment gave citizens living in DC the right to vote for president and vice-president

+The 24th Amendment

Ended the poll tax in federal elections in 1964. Many southern states adopted a poll tax in the late 1800sPeople had to pay this special tax before they could vote.Many people thought that this tax was meant to keep African Americans from voting.+ 26th AmendmentBefore 1971, the states set the voting age and this age varied among the states.

This amendment set the voting age at 18 in all states.
