Post Modernism

Back in the days the middle of 19th century and 20th century; art ists introduced art movement which is a style in art that group of art ists fol lows when they are producing their artwork. It was the f irst steps towards making art modern which comes practice in the middle of 20th Century and the 21st Century which we cal l it PostModernism. With the more use of digital art and/or graphic design it becomes more diff icult to define which art movement work belongs to. Nowadays artists not just uses Bauhaus, Impressionism, Real ism, Fauvism, Surreal ism and/or other art movements. The majority creates their own style ‘art movement’ , or they just get inspired and mix between a number of art movements including some digital art techniques.

We wil l also look into digital homage from previous paintings done by famous artists and/or photographers as with the tradit ional style of Wahoo. This may put new digital designers / art ists into the risks with copy right law if they do not have the rights to include in their designs other photographers / designers works.

Just before we go into details about post modernism lets look at Art movement and give examples of them.

In the middle of 20th Century more artists starts moving more twards modern

and digital art . Like wahoo, and other designers. As with the designs shown below were it is painted over photographic images.

Michael Craig - Martin Exhibition and Designers Inspired by his work

Well known painter and artist was born in August 1941 Dubl in, Ireland. He started his professional art by looking at other art ists work l ike Mark Rothko, Picasso. He had a passion about art and decided to do drawing classes and then about 1961 he studied art at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris and also during an autumn course he done painting at Yale University. Michael learnt a lot about colours during the short course at Yale university. A number of art ists were teaching the course at Yale University l ike Alex Katz.

His passion about art grow with t ime and since 1966 he started his career with drawing ordinary objects in London. Michael was more interesting to draw ordinary objects and during late 70’s he moved towards l ine drawings of these ordinary objects. About 1980s Michael decided to be also a tutor at Goldsmith Col lege to teach students art and this has somewhat helped the Young Brit ish Artists to learn from his unique style.
