You Make A Difference!

We are convinced that our joint efforts are

transforming a community trapped in a state of

helplessness and poverty.

Nakyere is one of the most impoverished

villages in Uganda. Children, on average are

five years behind the kids in other regions in

terms of literacy and opportunities for good

education.

Your contributions have enabled us to construct

the Amazing Love School in Nakyere, a remote

hard to reach village.

The School is currently providing access to

quality education to 105 children, while creating

jobs for teachers, builders, vendors and farmers.

AMAZING LOVE SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

In May 2012, the children of Amazing Love Primary

School moved into their semi-finished building block.

The nursery school children remained at the old site.

We now have five teachers: Saida Kasuubo, Susan

Ambong, Doreen Gabaire, Moses Kavanda, Mariam

Nabirye and Emmanuel Kirunda, the principal

This is a major milestone for us as we partner with

the community, local leaders, supporters to explore

all possible avenues of raising both financial and

human resources for sustainability.

There is a lot of appreciation and excitement about

the progress and the support received so far. We had

productive meetings with teachers, parents, local

leaders and management boards.

Accomplishments in 2012:

Flooring 2 classes + two blackboards - $600

Furniture (20 four seater desks with benches,

6 tables and 6 chairs for the teachers - $ 820

Teachers’ text books & school supplies - $340

Partial labour costs -$320

We opened a Barclay’s bank account in Uganda

for the school and a school box number

(P.O. Box 170 Busembatia.)

We introduced a piggery project and corn

farming as a way of generating some income

for the school- $260.

We assisted in the preparation of the training

and administrative manuals, provided soccer

balls for the students and set up a storage room

for the books that were donated.

As a supporter of the Amazing Love school project, you

Glass pane for one door costs $50 (5), for a window costs

$30 (22), a bag of cement costs $15 (140 bags), a desk $30

(50), a chair $10(10), a teacher’s table $ 35(7) including

staffroom, a bag of limestone $15 (10), one vehicle trip of

sand (in tons) $135 (5)

Sponsorships:

$30 for porridge for a nursery school child for a year

$50 for one meal for a primary school child for a year

$70 for wages for a qualified teacher for a month

$80 for wages for a qualified head teacher for a month

$15 for a school uniform for one child for a year
