Amazing ACE Race Introduction The North Dallas chapter of the Dallas/Fort Worth affiliate has successfully used this game as an icebreaker activity. It consists of 8 different activities. Teams of students compete to see who finishes the race first. The purpose of the game is to build teamwork and introduce students, in very broad and elementary terms, to a few aspects of the design and construction industry. It is not necessary to use all 8 activities to operate the game. Indeed, some affiliates may choose to use only one activity as an icebreaker. To play the game, students receive only a printed “Station Card” found in the attached PDF file. The Station Card tells them which station to go to. To get the game started, each group is handed one Station Card. So that teams start at different stations, be certain to give groups different Station Card. Once a team completes a station, they are handed the next Station card. The instruction pages for each activity (found in the attached PDF) are given only to the mentor(s) responsible for that station. One or two mentors should staff each station. When students arrived at their station, they orally instruct the students how to complete the station. Note: For activity 3 Marshmallow Building, the instruction cards can be purchased inexpensively at https://teachbesideme.com/product/marshmallow-toothpick-geometry/
