ACCESS 4000 X.25 TO TCP/IP GATEWAY ACCESS 4000 CDR COLLECTION MANAGER

X.25/TCP ConversionThe X.25/TCP Gateway interfaces X.25 devices to TCP/IP devices. Multiple simultaneous connections are possible between X.25 logical channels and TCP sockets. This interconnection may be as simple as data only (RAW) transfer, or more complex like “message boundary preservation” for X.25 M-bit and Q-bit packets. Several standard and custom conversion methods are available. New conversions can be easily incorporated. The Gateway can connect directly to X.25 devices or to the X.25 network.

X.25 over TCP Encapsulation (XOT tunneling)The XOT gateway is used when the X.25 network between X.25 devices and hosts is being replaced with an IP network. By tunneling the X.25 protocol over TCP, the Gateway allows for seamless integration without modification or re-configuration of the X.25 devices. All network addressing is preserved and an extensive translation table allows for flexible routing. By transporting the packets, the Gateway preserves all of the features of the X.25 protocol.

XOT to TCP ConversionWhen remote devices support XOT or have an external XOT gateway for encapsulating X.25 over an IP network, the XOT to TCP gateway can be used to directly convert the X.25 logical channels encapsulated in XOT to TCP sockets for IP hosts that don’t support XOT, eliminating the need for an X.25 interface.

Gateway Features• X.25–TCP conversion• X.25 over TCP encapsulation (RFC 1613 XOT)• XOT–TCP conversion• X.25 switching• Serial/X.28/X.29 terminal server• HDLC/LAPB sync server• Conversion methods: RAW, RFC1006, LINE mode, custom• X.25 M-bit and Q-bit preservation• Large, comprehensive address translation/routing table• Connections can be initiated by X.25 or by TCP/IP devices

OverviewThe Microtronix MWI UniCom LV Translator provides Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) notifications from either a legacy Voice Mail Server (VMS) or a Unified Messaging Server (UMS) to VoIP phones across SIP/IP networks. The unit supports translation of received SMDI MWI messages into unsolicited SIP NOTIFY messages. The UniCom LV can be configured to do the DN to IP address resolution using an internal lookup table or it can forward SIP NOTIFY messages to a Proxy Server for processing and DN to IP address resolution and delivery to the VoIP phone.

The SMDI link of the PBX can be connected directly to one of the serial RS232 ports, or indirectly via a TCP/IP connection to a remote TCP/IP terminal server. Some PBXs also support SMDI over TCP/IP.

Software Features• Taps SMDI traffic between PSTN CO Switch and legacy VMS• Pass-through of call integration (MD) messages• Routes by DN to determine SMDI or SIP destination• Translates SMDI MWI to SIP MWI notifications for VoIP

subscribers• User definable lookup table consisting of DN and destination

OverviewThe Microtronix MWI UniCom LL helps to provide centralized Voice Mail MWI service across multiple distributed PSTN Switches or PBX Systems. The SMDI-Router has many configurable options to provide flexibility to meet different network configurations.

The SMDI-Router receives SMDI MWI messages over a SMDI link from a Voice Mail System. Depending on the configuration of the SMDI-Router, it will either route or broadcast the MWI message to one or many PSTN Switches or PBX Systems. The serial RS-232 line, used for the SMDI link, may be configured to use different signaling protocols. MWI messages may also be transmitted as SMDI over TCP/IP or SIP over TCP/IP (UDP also provided), in place of transmission over a direct RS-232 connection.

SMDI TRANSLATOR SERVING CUSTOMERS WORLDWIDE SINCE 1983

Features• Direct Drop-in Replacement for the Lucent 3A Translator• Converts 5ESS Switch API protocol to 1AESS Switch SMSI

protocol• User configurable interface between Lucent 5ESS® Switch

API and Voice Mail/messaging System• Supports Lucent 5ESS® Switch APCP protocol• Direct RS-232 serial connection to VMS• X.25 and TCP/IP networking to VMS• Integral ISDN BRI “U” interface

OverviewThe Microtronix SMDI (Simplified Message Desk Interface) Translator is a direct replacement for the Lucent 3A Translator. It provides a versatile, user-configurable interface between an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Application Processor Interface (API) connected to a Lucent 5ESS® Switch and a customer provided electronic Voice Mail/messaging System (VMS). The SMDI Translator converts the 5ESS® Switch API protocol to the 1AESS Switch SMSI protocol so that a VMS which was originally designed to operate on the 1AESS SMSI format can be used with the 5ESS® Switch.

The Microtronix SMDI Translator allows the customer’s VMS to send and receive Simplified Message Service Interface (SMSI) messages when connected to a Lucent 5ESS® Switch.

The Microtronix SMDI Translator receives message service system (MSS) messages and/or BCLID from the 5ESS® Switch through the D-channel of an ISDN line.

Key Software Features• Converts 5ESS® Switch API protocol to 1AESS Switch SMSI

protocol• No limit on BCIDs• Configurable LCEN/OEN• Protocol Gateway software provides alternate TCP/IP

connectivity to VMS• VMS port configurable for X.25 connectivity• Interface tracing• Telnet remote management

Key Hardware Features• RS-232 port for direct connection to VMS• RS-232 diagnostic/statistics port• RS-232 console port• ISDN BRI “U” interface
