Visit emeraldauction.org or email a classmate ([email protected], [email protected], okeef2000@yahoo. com) for more information about tickets and opportunities to support this legendary event and major school fundraiser. Check Out New Linn Home The home on Morris Ave. that Timothy Linn ‘99 of Edge Grain LLC built for his parents, Jean and Jim Linn ‘67 , looks very different from their previous two Shorewood homes and from other homes on the block. Domus Matris (as they’ve named the house) also functions much differently than other homes: it is the only Certified Passive House (PHIUS+) building in Eastern Wisconsin and one of just two in the state. Insulated concrete floors, triple-paned windows, thick doors and 24-inch-thick walls are just some of the features that keep heat loss to a minimum in this ultra-energy efficient home. While energy efficiency was important to the Linns, a healthy environment and accessible space, where their large family could gather comfortably, were major requirements. The house was open on September 28/29, 2019 as part of Historic Milwaukee’s Doors Open Milwaukee event. (Credit: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; Shorewood Historical Society)(Photos: Tim Linn, Linn Home, Jean & Jim Linn Family) The Annual Fund Kick-Off Party, a celebration for donors and current parents, was held at the Fletcher/ Littrell home on November 15, 2019. Attendees were entertained with a performance by a current student in the Strings Music Program and a display of art cre- ated by current students. Caroline McGartland ’19 spoke about how well St. Robert School prepared her for the rigorous curriculum at DSHA High School. The Annual Fund wrapped up 2019 with over $80,000, on the way to our goal of $210,000.
