SECOND ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPLUNCHEON

HOWARD L. CORNISH CHAPTER

PHILADELPHIA CHAPTER

ANNAPOLIS/ANNE ARUNDEL CHAPTER

The Second Annual Scholarship Luncheon was heldon April 10th, in the McKeldin Center. This lun-cheon gives our scholarship donors a chance to get

to know the students who are the recipients of their generos-ity. The donors all say that it is very gratifying to meet thestudents who benefit from their contributions. The studentsenjoy having the opportunity to meet and thank their bene-factors in person. This event provides an excellent opportu-nity for our students to network with potential employers. The luncheon also presents another opportunity forMorgan’s leadership to thank our major donors.

This year’s luncheon, which was underwritten byMerrill Lynch, was attended by almost two hundred donorsand students, nearly double last year’s attendance. All ofthe donors present gave scholarships of at least $1,000 inthis academic year. The increase in participants means thatwe had more scholarships this year at that level. This isextremely important in light of the decreased governmentfunding for student financial assistance and the increasingtuition costs. We hope to have many more participants atnext year’s luncheon.
