General Company Description

Alternative Cares INC will be the leader in helping make access to Medical Marijuana programs affordable to Veterans of the United States, and the ill who cannot afford the costs of the program.

Mission Statement: Alternative cares is a non-profit entity that believes in Medical Marijuana treatment. We plan on raising funds and on a case by case basis, guiding and helping make access to the Medical Marijuana program cost effective and easier for those who qualify and are in need.

Company Goals and Objectives: Our goal is to evaluate the need of the patient, and the level of access that they have to the Medical Marijuana program. Costs and fees are astronomical, and we plan on helping subsidize those costs for patients (who qualify under the standards and are certified) in need to access the program and the medicine that they need.

Business Philosophy: We are believers in alternative medicine. We will stay on the forefront of the Medical Marijuana research, and how it affects different illnesses. We believe that those in need, who cannot afford it, should have access to what may potentially give them a better quality of life, or in fact, save their lives.

We will market to qualified patients in need of alternative medical treatments.

The Medical Marijuana industry is an exciting alternative to synthetic and highly addictive drugs. Many studies have been done and while more are underway, new evidence is continuing to be released about the benefits and effectiveness of this as a treatment option.

Alternative Cares is like no other in the field. We will be staffed with, and advised by, knowledgeable people who are conscientious, caring, and whole heartedly believe in the alternative treatment of those in need. Our legal form of ownership is a Not for Profit. We will rely on donations from the personal and business communities to render our services.

Products and Services

(MMP from herein to be known as Medical Marijuana Program)

Our product is unique to the fact that there is no other Not for Profit that subsidizes the costs of the MMP for those qualified and in need. No insurance companies right now cover any of the expenses of the MMP. These can include:

First visit with a qualified Doctor cost: $300-$500

Follow up visits with Doctor: $100-$200 per visit.

Cost of MMP medicine: $200-$1000+ per month depending on condition and prescription from Doctor.

Because of these high costs, many with terminal illnesses and other qualifying conditions cannot afford the MMP treatments. We will rely on our fundraising efforts to make smart and well informed decisions to help subsidize or cover the costs of these programs.

We plan to create a circle of caregivers that will make the access to the program easier to those in need. Qualified Doctors, FNP’s, transportation, and dispensaries. Qualified caregivers will enter into agreements with Alternative Cares Inc so that payment is made directly to them for services or products, so money is never in the hands of our patients.

Transportation can be a major issue for patients who have no way of getting to a Doctor or Dispensary. Right now there are few Doctors who are qualified and even fewer dispensaries to access the MMP medicine. We plan on partnering with transportation companies to help make the access to the Doctors and Dispensaries easier for those in need.

For patient protection we will abide by all HIPAA laws. (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), the federal law that protects personal medical information and recognizes the rights to relevant medical information of family caregivers and others directly involved in providing or paying for care.

According to the NYS Department of Health https://www.health.ny.gov/statistics/cancer/registry/vol1/v1rnys.htm

Average annual cases of cancer in Men – 54223.6

Rate per 100,000 Males – 557.4

Average Annual deaths in Men- 17509.6

Average annual cases of cancer in Women – 54108.6

Rate per 100,000 Females – 450.9

Average annual deaths in Women – 17598.6

With only 2,875 patients enrolled in the MMP since its inception January 2016, this is a miniscule fraction of the patients that could be receiving alternative treatment from the MMP. This is vastly disproportionate which leads us to believe that the MMP is very hard to access.

The following page is a statistical view of Cancer related illnesses in NY alone.

The distance to these legal dispensaries is too great for ill people to travel. The unfortunate who do not have transportation to the dispensaries are left out of the treatment. Alternative Cares aims to make arrangements and partnerships with transportation companies, to get the patients to and from the locations at an affordable price. (examples, bus, taxi, train, Uber, Lyft among others)

Page 13: Alternative Cares INC

Distance

As examples in the list of Doctors and dispensary map, the distance to a certified Doctor or a legal dispensary are too great for many people to take advantage of the MMP. We aim to find them an affordable way to get the access to the MMP.

Economics

Qualified candidates will be assisted 100% or subsidized according to their financial situation. Every case will be thoroughly vetted, screened and processed. Patients will be required to show proof of income, past tax forms and other items to prove level of income. Sliding scales will then be assigned to each individual patient. Timeframes of certifications are mandatory in NY, and a patient must recertify every year with their Doctor or risk being removed from the system. We will have contact with the Doctors and copies of all certifications from the patient to know when he/she is no longer able to take part in the MMP program. This will lead to a halt of funding from Alternative Cares.

A financial manager will be taken on as a guide to all asset withholding and spendatures.

An appointed board of qualified candidates will oversee the operation of Alternative Cares.

Through constant donations and fundraisers, not only will Alternative Cares raise money for the patients in need, it will also fight to bring the due attention that the MMP needs in public. We will work with local and state organizations to raise awareness to further make access to the MMP more readily available. We will be on the doorsteps of Albany fighting for reform and expansion of the MMP.
