    Altered Canvas Art

    by Addie Ebersohl ([email protected])http://www.virtualconvention.biz/Addieh.html

It is best to paint the canvases the day before decorating so the paper adheres better .

    Supply List:5x7 Flat Board Canvas

    5x4 Flat Board Canvas

    3.5x4 Picture

    1-1x7 piece of cardstock1-1x7 piece of B&T

1-3x3 piece of B&T torn in half diagonally

    3-medium dimensional element flowers

    3-small dimensional flowersWhite paint

Reinkers-your color choices- I used Sweet Leaf and Barn RedSponge Brushes

    Prisma Glitter

RibbonSuper Strength Glue Dots- I prefer half inch

    Ink for distressing paper

    Tulle-about 14 inches

    Step 1:

Dye enough white paint to paint the 5x4 canvas and to edge the 5x7 canvas.

    Step 2:

Paint the 5x7 canvas white-keeping it smooth-set aside to dry

Paint the 4x5 canvas the color of your choice-set aside to dry- I used Barn RedEdge the 5x7 canvas with the color of your choice- I used Sweet Leaf

Edge the 4x5 canvas with the white - set aside to dry.

Step 3:Paint the medium flower dimensional element Barn Red or color of your choice-set aside

    to dry.

Paint the small flower dimensional element Sweet leaf-or color of your choice-immediately pour prisma glitter onto the small flowers, shake off excess and set aside to

    dry.

    Step 5:

Take the 1x7 B&T and distress the edges. Attach directly underneath the cardstock

keeping the edges flush.Set this canvas aside and get the 4x5 canvas

Step 6:Take the 3x3 B&T that is torn in half and distress the edges. Attach to opposing corners

of the 5x4 canvas keeping the edges flush.

    Step 7:

Adhere the picture to the 5x4 canvas-centering it.

Step 8:Tie the tulle into a knot at the bottom of the picture-if you prefer- you can also tie it to the

    top. Trim if needed.

Step 9:Attach the green flowers to the center of the barn red flowers using liquid glass.

    Step 10:

Place the dimensional flowers to the top of the 5x7 canvas and then the 5x4 canvas and

get the spacing equal. Using the half inch glue dots adhere the dimensional flowers.

    Step 11:

Put 3 glue dots across the back and on top only of the 5x4 canvas. Adhere the canvas to

the 5x7 canvas allowing the bottom of the 5x4 canvas to hang below the 5x7.

    Step 12:

Using the half inch glue dots, attach a piece of ribbon to the back of the 5x7 canvas.Make it long enough to be able to hang the canvases on the wall. Cover the glue dots and

ribbon with cardstock so the glue dots wont stick to your wall.
