uality time is giving someone your undivided attention. QThe idea that the Eternal God desires to spend quality

time with His creatures is one aspect of faith unique to

Christianity. This is evidenced in the account of the primordial

family of Adam and Eve in Genesis. After their settlement in the

beautiful Garden, God visited in “the cool of the day” to spend time

with them. While this visitation and spending time together lasted,

mankind experienced a balance on all fronts. Their togetherness

with the Creator imparted positively on their existence, until the

unexpected happened and the sweet fellowship with the Divine

was interrupted.

Ever since, it has become an arduous task for man to enjoy the

Edenic fellowship with God. Many distractions call for our attention

and put strains on us, disallowing us to spend quality time with our

Creator. But, there is nothing that can replace time together with

God for any believer to grow in godliness and to fulfil destiny.

“Alone with God,” a Daily Devotional comes handy in launching

users into the divine presence where God is always ready to speak,

guide and transform His own. To the best of my understanding, this

indispensable spiritual tool for growth is divinely compiled to bring

man before God, to nurture godliness and acceptable spirituality in

the believer, particularly in a time like this, when falsehood is

pervading and ravaging Christendom.

It is therefore right to express gratitude to God for the life of the

chief compiler –Mrs. Folorunso Alakija, for the good work she has

allowed God to do in and through her. Her doggedness and

Ÿ Understand that the Spirit we have received is not of the world but of God, freely

given to us by Him.

Ÿ Pray from the heart alone with God at every opportunity.

Ÿ Forgive others, be merciful. Often your situation will not change until your attitude

changes.

Ÿ Honour God at every opportunity e.g. with your substance, with singing, dancing and

exaltation.

Ÿ Find out His will for your life through prayer and obey without delay.

Ÿ Any form of disobedience blocks prayers (e.g. disobedience to the Lord, those in

Ÿ When in doubt, ask God first, before asking man.

Ÿ Seek His face in time, do not procrastinate.

Ÿ Put God first and yearn for His presence.

Ÿ Wait for an answer at the end of each prayer.

Ÿ Don't pray in a hurry unless in danger.

Ÿ Have an intimate walk with God, develop a relationship with Him.

Ÿ Enter into daily covenant prayer with Him (choose a convenient time).

Ÿ Commit your hopes and dreams in His hands.

Ÿ Look to Jesus to meet all of your needs.

Ÿ Put your expectations in the Lord and not in other things (e.g. money) or people.

Ÿ Keep your eyes on Jesus and listen to His still small voice.

Ÿ Ask God before taking major decisions.

Ÿ Let the joy of the Lord be your strength.

Ÿ Be patient, He is never late.

Ÿ Love others as He has loved you; pray for them.

Ÿ Give to those in need, etc.

Ÿ Have a place of solitude free from distraction in order to be alone with God.

Ÿ Pray with others (fellowship, etc.) and intercede for others.

Ÿ Put God in remembrance of His word.

Ÿ Build your life on His word and build His word into your life.

Ÿ Pray without ceasing (as often as possible throughout each day).

Ÿ Don't let anything keep you from your work and service to God.

Ÿ Be vigilant and do not be ignorant of satan’s devices as he seeks whom to devour.

(Everybody has enemies and his agents are real. They enter into living beings and

objects and use them against others).

Ÿ Do not pray “return to sender prayers” but pray for God's mercy and deliverance of

the victim satan is using. (God is not interested in the death of a sinner but in his

repentance and deliverance).

Ÿ Give yourself communion from time to time.

Ÿ Continually plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over yourself, family, home, marriage and

all that has to do with your life.

Ÿ Trust in God's unfailing love for you. His promises will always come to

pass.

Ÿ Never doubt God's power. An unstable man will get nothing from Him.

Ÿ Count your blessings and name them one by one. He who has done those

ones will do the rest.

Ÿ Pray the promise, not the problem.

Ÿ Sing praises to the Lord and hand over your worries and cares to Jesus

Ÿ Let God's word dominate your thoughts, cast down thoughts' contrary to

His word.

Ÿ Remember that greater is God's word inside of you than the smaller trial

facing you.

Ÿ Stay humble.

Ÿ Be comforted in the fact that God desires to comfort you and heal your

broken heart.

Ÿ Confess abundance in the face of apparent lack.

Ÿ Do not let the root of bitterness take a hold of your life. Rejoice always.

Ÿ Cry out to God in your distress, He is always available to rescue you.

Ÿ Give to those in need, despite your state. There are people who are in a

worse situation than yourself.

Ÿ Never repay evil for evil, rather repay evil for good.

Ÿ Have a healthy relationship/fellowship with your Father, He is the source

of strength for every trial or tribulation.

Ÿ Do not forsake the assembly of fellow believers, they will help you grow.

Ÿ Understand that we have been given the Spirit of God freely to help us

navigate through life's challenges.

I come pleading the blood of Jesus that was shed for me on the cross of Calvary by which I have a New Covenant with God. I come pleading that Covenant.

I come standing on Your word that says If I ask anything in Your name, You will do it.

I come standing on the word of God that says whatever I bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever I loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Lord, help me to abide in You and You to abide in me. I pray that I will bear much fruit because without you I cannot do anything on my own.

I come believing that You are able. Is there anything too hard for You, You who are the Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent God?

Dear Lord, I come boldly to Your throne today, confident in Your love that does not despise my prayers. Thank You for being my ever-present help. I trust in Your unfailing power to save me from wicked and unreasonable people.

I refuse to worry, fret or be anxious over anything because You are the one who is constantly watching over me to meet my needs. Therefore, I am at peace knowing You will fulfil Your promises.

Father I know Your plans for my life are good and perfect. I remind myself of all Your benefits and I thank You for keeping Your covenant to those who fear You.

Faith is the step between promise and assurance.

Miracles seem so out of reach for our feeble faith, but every miracle, large or small, begins with an act of obedience. We may not see the solution until we take the first step of faith.

God's provision is never given in order to let us rest upon it. We need to depend on Him as each new trial faces us.

Salvation is from God alone. No measure of good works can earn it.

Return, repent and be renewed. Then trust in God's redemption through Christ and rejoice.

God wants to use you within the circles you move in everyday. When you learn to do that He will enlarge your territory. The seeds of love you sow into someone else's life always creates the harvest you reap in your own. Ella Wheeler Wilcox said, “Give

to the world the best you have and the best will come back to you.” God made you to be a blessing not just to get a blessing. So become what God intended and you will receive what God intended you to receive.

Do not get so involved with the work of God that you neglect the God of the work.

Life may have knocked you down but God will not knock you out.

Solutions arise more easily and naturally out of a peaceful state, whereas fear and anxiety block solutions. Anxiety empowers the problem.

A marriage is what you create after a wedding. It does not just happen. You have to build it with courtesy, patience, support and a love marked by giving, not getting.

Victory belongs to those who keep looking at the goal not the going, not the process but the prize; not the

It is better to be right than to be popular.

Love for God will cause you to live for God.

Your name in heaven is not based on your fame on earth.

There is no testimony without a test.

No place of privilege can ever exempt a person from responsibility to God's call.

Although a situation may look hopeless, God is never helpless.

A God-given opportunity is an individual's received privilege.

Courage is not the absence of fear but fear that has said its prayers.

It is not the words we speak that make a difference, it is the power of God accompanying them.

God is not interested in our ability or inability but in our availability.

Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.

Faith does not eliminate questions. But faith knows where to take them.

If you are too busy to pray, you are busier than God wants you to be.

We fail in the work of grace and love when there is too much of us and not enough of God.

Remember as you go about your day that you may be the only Jesus some of your friends, neighbours and family will ever see.

God hears your every thought, whether you dress it up with 'Thee' and 'Thou' or not.

Marriages, like a garden, takes time to grow. But the harvest is rich unto those who patiently and tenderly care for the ground.

The dirtier your Bible, the cleaner your heart.

Sometimes you must stand still in order to get moving to where GOD wants you to go.

Freedom keeps us soaring, but quarreling destroys our ability to fly.

Overcomers are not perfect. They fail just like the rest of us but they keep on getting up, keep on repenting and keep on being willing to surrender themselves to Christ and letting Him, who is the only perfect One, work through them.

Who you are tomorrow begins with what you do today.

GOD blesses you so that He can do for others through you; it is not always about you.

The greatest marriages are built on teamwork, mutual respect, healthy dose of admiration and a never-ending portion of love and grace.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse.

The only walls that exist are those you have placed in your mind. Whatever obstacles you conceive exist only because you have forgotten what you have already achieved.

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is a daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer

to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

Fill your mind with Holy Scriptures that speaks life into your life.

To live without faith is to live without hope.

The Bible informs, reforms and transforms. Other books merely inform.

Forgiveness brings us closer to those who have hurt us and helps them to experience the forgiveness and love of Jesus through us who forgives them.

Say it is well even when you are inside the well. We can still see God through the blackness of darkness, trust God.

If you want a happy Christ-centered marriage, you must be centered in Christ!.

Nothing is too big for God to handle and nothing is so small that it's unworthy of His attention. There is no such thing as a silly prayer.

Things rarely go exactly as we expect but in the long run, they work out well for those who love God. His plan is higher than ours.

Love endures every circumstance; Love never loses hope, never loses faith and never gives up.

Three Thieves

Three thieves, Ayo, Emeka and Eze were taken to court and found guilty.

Emeka stole a tin of sardine. The judge sentenced him to three years in prison because there were three fishes in the tin.

Eze stole a tray of eggs, he got 30 years in prison because a tray of egg contains 30 eggs.

Ayo collapsed. He stole a bag of rice.

Forgiveness is for our own growth and happiness. When we hold on to hurt, pain, resentment and anger it harms us far more than it harms the offender.

Forgiveness frees us to live in the present. It allows us to move on without anger or contempt or seeking revenge.

To forgive someone is the highest, most beautiful form of love. You find a sense of peace and happiness when you do.

Forgiveness is not something we do for others - it's something we do for ourselves. Not forgiving someone is the equivalent of staying trapped in a jail cell of bitterness, serving time for someone else's crime.

When you are offended call out to the one who has offended you and calmly explain your feelings without anger. This will free you from bondage and free your heart from keeping grudges.

A 4-year-old boy was asked to give the meal a blessing before dinner. The family members bowed their heads in expectation. He began his prayer, thanking God for all his friends, naming them one by one.

Father God, I/we come before Your throne, I/we proclaim You are the Righteous Judge of the universe and I am/we are delighted to be in Your courtroom today.

I/we have a legal right to be here because I/we have a blood covenant relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I am/we are asking for mercy, I am/we are asking for grace and favour, I am/we are asking for justice because You have promised us freedom and deliverance through the truth of Your word. As Your child/children, I/we have a legal right to freedom and I/we acknowledge that I am/we are not in bondage to the enemy.

Covenants that I/we and my/our forefathers entered into consciously or unconsciously are holding me/us back. I/we acknowledge that I/we have sinned. I/we acknowledge that it is just and right for me/us to be in

bondage and that I/we deserve them. Although these things are true there is a higher truth and that higher truth is that I/we can leave this bondage. So I/we come with confession and I/we acknowledge the following sins:

I/we and some of my/our forefathers (nationwide) have worshipped other gods. You told us in the Ten Commandments that we are not to worship any spirits that inhabit the water and the land or make any graven images of things in heaven or in the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. I/we have violated that boundary; I/we have sinned against You. I/we and my/our forefathers have brought together worship and sex. I/we brought together two things that are to stay separate. I/we have allowed religion and tradition to be entrenched in my/our worship. These are iniquity and I/we acknowledge and I/we reject and I/we renounce the iniquity.

I/we and my/our forefathers have been involved in immorality, covenant breaking, fornication and adultery, pornography and bestiality, uncleanness, bribery, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, lies and the like. These things are iniquity. They are abominations in Your sight. I/we cancel and renounce them. Some of us Father, have been lawbreakers in the society. I/We have cheated the government in my/our taxes and business deals directly or indirectly, and have been engaged in shady deals.

I/We have consulted sorcerers, diviners, psychics, astrologers, traditional priests, the occult and even joined secret societies. I/We have entered into all sorts of satanic alliances, consciously or unconsciously.

I/We have worshipped other gods by allowing other things and people to take first place in my/our heart(s), things such as my/our job(s), spouse(s), children, worldly things and worldly enjoyment. I/We have loved and worshipped those people and things you created rather than making You, the Creator first and foremost in my/our heart(s) and in my/our life/lives and situations.

Father, I/we confess that breaking civil law is an abomination to You. It is not a small thing and it has given legal right to the enemy. I/We ask You Father to open the record books from the beginning of time to the present moment in every branch of our family lines. I/We ask You to identify every sin, rebellion and iniquity that opened the door for bondage and evil covenants. Let the indictment be piled up before Your throne, and I/we say we are guilty Father. The record of the court is accurate. I/We deserve to be under the bondage. I/We plead guilty as charged to these iniquities.

But now Father, against these iniquities, I/we plead the blood of Jesus Christ. I/We proclaim that Jesus Christ died on the cross to cleanse us from our sins. I/We proclaim that all curses and evil covenants were nailed to the cross and were covered with the blood over 2,000 years ago. There is absolutely nothing that I/we and my/our forefathers have done that were not included in the death of Jesus Christ. And so I/we present the blood of Christ in full for the debt that I/we owe You.

Father, Your word says that if I/we confess my/our sins, You will not only forgive me/us, but You will also cleanse me/us, and I/we receive cleansing now for myself/ourselves, our spouses, and for my/our physical

I pray that my children will learn to come to You in prayer to receive by faith regarding anything believing that their effective and fervent prayer is powerful and effective, and knowing that You will listen and respond to them because You care for them. I pray that they see Your power in operation to change the things

Father, It is You who orders the steps of Your children, therefore I pray that You will direct my children to the bone of their bones and the flesh of their flesh. I pray that they will not choose the wrong spouse for their lives but learn to follow Your leading so that they may find Your kind of genuine love which is patient, kind, not envious, not boastful or proud, not rude or self seeking, not easily angered, keeping no record of wrongs, which does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. I pray that they will have life partners who are beautiful in their hearts with gentle and quiet spirits.

Lord Jesus, I pray that my children will walk in godly obedience. Help them to see that disobedience to parents or rules of our home brings judgment which they must avoid.

My children are part of my heritage and reward, the Lord shall teach them and great shall be their peace. I shall not labour in vain nor bring up children for trouble.

According to Your promises of blessings if and when we walk in Your obedience, give them the grace to make the right choices so that they

life to my mortal body. Though my body will be immortal on His return, in the time being, I receive the life of God in my mortal body now.

Jesus has redeemed me from every curse of the law, having become a curse for me because Your word says cursed is one who hangs on a tree (cross), therefore, no sickness or disease can dwell in my body or in my life.

I claim the blessings of Abraham. My body is my dwelling place and my Father has promised that no evil or plague can come near my dwelling place and it is a living sacrifice which I present to God.

The Lord has sent His word, healed me and delivered me from every form of destruction because He has promised to restore health to me and heal me of my wounds.

The life of God quickens my mortal body, the Holy Spirit dwells in me, therefore, I command my body to stay in line with God's word. Every germ, bacteria and virus must die now in the name of Jesus. I command every form of sickness and disease in my body to die. Neither cancer nor tumours can live in my temple. All my vital organs line up with the word of God and I claim my healing now because I incline my ears and eyes to His sayings and keep them in my heart. They are life, health and

healing to all my whole body. Jesus who went about doing good healed them; and because He is the same yesterday, today and forever, and because I refuse to doubt in my heart, He has healed me too today.

According to Jesus' promise if I ask anything in His name, if I abide in Him and His words abide in me, it would be done for me; therefore I ask for His supernatural healing power upon me now.

Son of righteousness, rise with healing in Your wings that I may be made free from every sickness and be delivered from every disease, that my joy may be full through You in Jesus name. Amen.

To Get Results:

1. Always believe you have received when you pray, healing takes place immediately.

2. Authority over sickness and disease does not come automatically, it must be enforced (by the power of the Holy Spirit).

3. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed because the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

I put on the Righteousness of God and declare that my help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth. The Sun shall no longer go down, nor shall the moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be my everlasting light.

I remain steadfast and immoveable because the Lord has granted me rest on every side. I continually abound in His Grace and I declare that the name of the Lord will be glorified.

I declare every valley shall be exalted and every crooked path shall be made straight and the rough places plain and the glory of the Lord shall be seen in my life/marriage/home.

I confess that I am not anxious or depressed over life's problems, but in everything, I give God thanks and praise for His goodness and mercy endures forever.

I receive Your rest on every side. As I come to You with all my cares and burdens, knowing that the rest that man cannot give is delivered to me in Jesus Name.

I give God thanks and praise for His loving kindness and tender mercy. Behold, He who keeps me will not slumber nor sleep.

Thank you Lord Jesus because You have said in Your word that none shall lack a mate. I receive the spouse suitable for Your plans for me. I declare that He/She finds me out of a crowd of people in Jesus name.

Thank You for Your promise that says that whatsoever I ask in Your Name, when I pray it shall be given unto me as long as I believe. I pray that Your perfect will for a unique life partner will be granted unto my children and my children's children.

Lord, Your word says that the desires of the righteous shall be granted, therefore as I commit everyone in my family trusting You for a life partner, I know that You will not fail them and

that their hearts' desire will be granted in accordance to Your will.

Jesus took our infirmities and He lifted all our burdens and I declare that the Spirit of submission is manifested in my marriage. Every disobedient spirit is hereby rebuked and cast away by the Spirit of God.

Thank You Lord Jesus, for You have said in Your word that there shall be no plague of marital unfruitfulness in our midst. I therefore speak victory over every troubled home and declare God’s peace.

I confess that truly my marriage shall be a blessing and a rallying point for others to receive their healing and exchange beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

I declare that I am priceless; my price is far above rubies. I am a blessing to my husband and I will do him good daily. The Lord will bless the work of my hands and will daily renew my strength.

I pray that as I learn to trust You more, my heart will be totally fixed on You regardless of the prevailing circumstances. I declare that I am victorious over every situation and circumstance as I follow Your ways and You will direct my path.

I declare that I have crucified the flesh and the life that I live is by the grace and the mercy of God. I pray that I am an overcomer by the shed blood of the Lamb and by the very words of my testimony in Christ.

I declare that I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I pray that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable unto You.

King David gave his son Solomon principles to guide him through life. These same ideas are ones that any Christian parent would want to present to a child:

1. Get to know God personally

2. Learn God's commandments and discover what He wants you to do

3. Worship God with wholehearted devotion

4. Serve God with a willing mind

5. Be faithful

6. Shun ungodly company

7. Be a light to others walking in darkness

8. Don't be discouraged

My Father and my God, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ and I confess that I have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. I repent of these sins. I believe in my heart that if I call upon the name of the Lord I shall be saved.

I also believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, He died for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead for my justification. We are more often than not guilty of avoiding the extreme sins, while regularly committing the types of sins which Jesus was most concerned with. In these six examples, our real struggle with sin is exposed. Jesus pointed out what kind of lives would be required of His followers. Are you living as Jesus taught?

Matthew 5:21-47

Murder - It is not enough to avoid killing, we must also avoid anger and hatred.

Offerings - It is not enough to offer regular gifts, we must also have right relationships with God and others.

Adultery - It is not enough to avoid adultery, we must also keep our hearts from lusting and be faithful. Divorce - It is not enough to be legally married, we must also live out our marriage commitments.

Oaths - It is not enough to make an oath, we must also avoid casual and irresponsible commitments to God.

Revenge - It is not enough to seek justice for ourselves, we must also show mercy and love to others.
