The Hunger Alliance of Ghana(HAG) has been a partnersince at least 2008.
As part of the NAPP, weworked with HAG to expandtheir coalition and diversifytheir funding.
In 2011, the US Alliance andHAG convened two civilsociety consultation meetings
on the governmentsAgriculture Developmentplan.
These meetings increased thenumber of CSOs engaged inthese discussions from two toover 100.
HAG was designated as thesecretariat to coordinatethese ongoing discussions.
In July, HAG received a grantfrom the French Embassy inGhana to conduct capacitybuilding activities with their
own members.

Kenya
The US Alliance, inconjunction with CatholicRelief Services, convened a
series of consultations withinternational and local civilsociety in Kenya.
These meetings culminated inDec. 2011 with the creationof the Kenya Alliance AgainstHunger and Malnutrition.
KAAHM has selected agoverning secretariat and iscurrently hosted at the KenyaFreedom From HungerCouncil.
KAAHM has developed a work
plan for 2012-13 and abudget to get the Alliance upand running.
A national conference tolaunch the Alliance and tofocus civil society efforts on
hunger and malnutrition isbeing planned.

Uganda
Uganda is the newest partnercountry in the NAPP.
The US Alliance has chosento partner with an existingcivil society coalition, theFood Rights Alliance (FRA).
The NAPP Coordinator hasparticipated in the FRAsannual business meeting, to
help align activities andobjectives.
We have also conducted acapacity assessment for theorganization.
Capacity needs have been
identified and a work planand budget to address themis under development.

Sustainability As part of the program, Alliances will produce:
A multi-year strategic plan focused on organizationalgrowth
Clearly articulated advocacy and policy goals, withstrategies to achieve them
A response to the Country Investment Plan, or anotherkey government food security or agriculture initiative
