FUNdraiser

The PTA wanted to send out a thank you to all the staff and parents who helped make the spring

dance such a success.

Thank you also to our wonderful PALS and Mrs. Simpson who helped with the concessions as setting

out the decorations.

We especially wanted to give a shout out to LinezkaMaduro who not only created the invitations but

decorated the cafeteria for our dance.

We are so proud of our students who participated in Band UIL last week and came home with top scores from the judges, our destination imagination team which has advanced to Globals, and our Math/Science team who competed successfully at the state meet last weekend! We have so many talented students doing so many different things! So proud of them all!

Speaking of talented students, come out to see our Theater production of Legally Blonde, Jr. The show will be in the Curtis Middle School cafeteria on Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29, at 7pm! Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Concessions will be available. You won’t be disappointed!

We are in the home stretch for this school year and we are repeatedly saying to our students to finish strong. It has been a great year and students have learned so much. We are keeping them working and engaged and hope they stay that way mentally too. Thanks for all the support from home!

The Junior Police Academy is for

any student entering into 7th grade

through 11th for the 2017-2018

school year. Our JPA is a great way

for students to not only learn about

the aspects of Law Enforcement, but

also to connect with the School

Resource Officer that will be

assigned to his or her school. See

The Math and Science Club would like to

recognize these four winners of the STATE

TMSCA Meet that we attended this past

weekend in San Antonio:

•Out of 158 students, Jenny Wei placed 19th in

Number Sense and 13th in Mathematics.

•Out of 151 8th grade students, Daniel Li placed

18th in Science and Abraham Cherian placed

7th in Number Sense.

We are proud of all the students who've

participated in the math and science club this

year, and how hard they've worked together to

share in these successes.

Hello Curtis PTA families!

Your Curtis PTA has been hard at work to finish up the

fabulous year we've had, and we sincerely thank you for

your support! A few things coming up:

• May 1-5 is National Teacher Appreciation Week! We

encourage you to have your student write a handwritten

note to his/her favorite teachers on Friday, May

5. Small treats or flowers are also loved by our

teachers!

• We will also be providing a couple special treats

throughout the week for the staff. Sign ups for

• May 4 at 9:30am, we will hold our final Membership

Meeting of the school year. PTA members are welcome

to join us in the Teacher's Lounge for this meeting. This

is a great way to see what has gone on with the Curtis

PTA during the 2016-2017 school year.

• May 12 Curtis Cougars Cosmic Jump Night 5-7 pm.

Cost is $14 (and tax) for two hours of fun OR $17 (and

tax) for two hours of fun plus pizza and a drink. Online
