A word from the Secretary..
A word from the Secretary.. The next Annual General Meeting of the Celtic Club will be held on Thursday 22ndOctober, 2015 at 7.30pm. You should receive a letter giving you written notice of this, the agenda and yourproxy form very shortly. If you have not received your letter and materials about the AGM by Thursday15th October, please ring the Club (9670.6472) and we will send you replacements. This year there are two types of proxy form:1. Directed – you decide how you want to vote and ask the Chair to vote on yourbehalf, and2. Undirected – you ask a financial member of the Club to attend the meeting andvote as he or she sees fit.The form allows you to choose which one you would like to have. All financial members are welcome to attend the AGM and we hope that many of youwill come and participate. The numbers of members voting in the last election (301)was unusually high – almost half of those eligible. This may have been because everyone was sent a postal vote, but we hope it wasdue to a revived interest in the Club’s fortunes. Thursday 22nd October would be another chance to take part in the life of the Club. Felicity Allen,Secretary

It gives an extensive description of our newCultural Resource Centre and the various activities undertaken by the CulturalHeritage Committee on behalf of the Club.We encourage you to have a look and to visit our Cultural Resource Centre.

1916 Commemoration Melbourne
Calling any relatives in Melbourne of the people who were involved in the 1916 risingin Ireland! The Cultural and Heritage Committee here at the club are reaching
out and asking to make contact with you. The 100th Anniversary of the 1916 is nextyear as you doubtless already know and the Club has plans to celebrate in style.
Could you ask your relatives for information, photographs or any mermorabilia thatmay help us in celebrating one of the most historical time in Ireland?
Any information will make huge difference to us..

Student Irish History Awards

We would like to thank to all who came along to 'St. Patricks Day in Spring' itwas a truly enjoyable day. 'Marty and the Weekenders' put on such a
remarkable performance. We are excited for Friday 18th December at 9pmwhen Marty and the weekenders play next. Thanks to Jameson and all
the other acts who performed on the day including Pat, Cyril and Vince O'Connor who sang beautifully, 'Danny Boy' to finish off the night!
