With great pleasure we, Department of Biochemistry AIIMS Rishikesh, wish to inform you that we are
conducting a workshop on “Non-Invasive Breath Test Techniques in Diseases” at All India Institute of Medical
Sciences Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India.
Aim of this workshop is to spread knowledge about use of Non-Invasive Breath Test Techniques to diagnose
(1) Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (2) Lactose/ fructose/ sorbitol intolerance (3) To measure Orocecal
transit time for gastrointestinal motility (4) Concentration of microbiota in different parts of gastrointestinal
tract (5) Presence of normal microbiota in GIT (6) To detect microbiota resistant to particular antibiotic (7)
To establish side effect of particular desi medicine on normal microbiota of patient. Non-Invasive urea breath
test will also be demonstrated to detect Helicobacter pylori without taking antrum biopsy which is an invasive
method. In this workshop, future prospects of Breath Biopsy Technology to diagnose Cancer at early stage
will also be discussed.
Who can attend?
Young scientists, Research scholars, Graduate and Post-graduate students, Gastro residents and other
research professionals from government (state or central) organisations, who have an interest in field of
Gastro-Biochemistry.
There are 30 seats and these will be given on first come first serve basis. Applications will be received up to
15 December 2019. Registration fee for this workshop will be ₹500 for students and ₹1000 for others. Only
lunch and tea will be provided during workshop. Delegates have to make their own arrangement for
accommodation.
