SUMMERTIME, AN' THE LIVIN' IS EASY
So many memories of our youth are centered around the lazy, hazy days of summer. Looking back over the years, I can still remember fun times at Bible School. My first experience started with a gathering in the sanctuary where I sang "I’ve got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy, Down in My Heart" with other children at the top of our lungs. The days ended with eating homemade ice cream. Favorite summer camp memories included roasting hot dogs, s’mores and music around the campfire. During those fun experiences, little did I know how many adults were investing in my future. It took an army to shape these experiences. Ministers, teachers, counselors, musicians, artists, administrative assistants, cooks, carpenters, photographers, writers, swimming pool attendants/lifeguards… the list goes on. The army was a group of people that assembled together with one goal; to provide an experience for youth to learn and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. Many of the people worked endless hours, hoping to reach just one child. To make a difference in one person’s life. I’m grateful for those who used their God-given gifts along with investing time and resources to help bring the knowledge of the love of Christ to me.

(Continued from Page 1) As we go through the summer, and the youth of our church are enjoying Vacation Bible School and experiences at Camp Moses Merrill, let us pray that they grow spiritually. Pray for a desire to be placed on people’s hearts to be passionate about their calling to facilitate God’s will with these summertime activities. As we work to invest in our youth, let us remember that God uses these experiences and an army of volunteers to changes lives. To God Be the Glory. Gina Slechta
11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by
the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into
him who is the head, into Christ,16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that
it builds itself up in love.
