Introduction

Design Question: How can I visually represent the book “Snow Flower

and the Secret Fan”?

Concept: An animatic of the Opening Scene—would allow for

me to see how well the script conveys both the setting and time period visually.

The Animatic is based on 2 things: The book “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan”:

A story about a lifelong friendship

between two women in China during

the 1800’s.

The adaptation I had written for the screen.

Conclusions

Project vs. Concept: The project proves that the concept is achievable

through a visual mediun.

Project vs. Design Question: More animatics of different scenes would enable me

to see how well they translate to film.

Vision: Eventually I would like to finish writing the

adaptation.
