1979 APPENDIX TO 1975 INTERIM REPORT
This brief report summarizes the work that has been done on the Crescent Lake
Area Claims of Bird River Mines, Ltd. since 1975. The suggestions put forward in the
1975 report were subsequently carried out, and several zones of anomalous lithium
mineralization were detected, but they were not of sufficiently high value to encour
age additional work.
In early 1979 the price of Tantalum took a dramatic rise from $38/lb. to as
high as $90/lb. In 1975 when the last report was made the price of Tantalum was
as low as $7/lb. This price increase encouraged Mr. Bonner to re-sample the lithium
zone plus extensions to the east for possible tantalum because it had been ident
ified in some of the lithium samples. The accompanying Plan No.lO shows the eastern
extension of the original pegmatite zone, with the addition of.the percentage of
Tantalum in channel samples. It was noted that there was a distinct change in
attitude of the greenstone-granite contact east of Tettare-Zigzag Lakes^Si the
vicinity of Claim 490017, which is approximately 2 miles east of Zigzag Lake. The
strike changes from essentially east-west to S30E, and the dip changes from vertical
to approximately 40E. Investigation shows that this area has a heavy drift cover,
and therefore outcrops are scarce. However, geochemical sampling of the bedrockV.
greenstone by Mr.Donner adjacent to this drift-covered area shows anomalously high
lithium(ca 300 ppm). This anomalous lithium is comparable to that in the rocks
adjacent to the Li and Ta bearing pegmatite zones to the west. This area has been
labelled "Potential No.l" by Mr.Donner.
Suggestion for Further Work
It is suggested that it might be advantageous to examine this"Potential No.l"
zone with a number of relatively short diamond drill holes sunk well into the
bedrock. Inasmuch as the depth of the overburden is notJflBftftftt^ijijL is recommended that
four holes of 250' depth be put down as indicated or

General —————
This surface bedrock geochemical sampling was done in a reconnaissance fashion using compass and pace, with the aid of air photo No. 24549 - 174.
Areas of the samples taken are marked in the field with blue flagging tape the sample number also the width of each sample marked on and the marked flagging tape hung on adjacent trees. Tying into new claim lines and posts. The precise locations of these samples are shown on Plan Nos. 2, 3 and 10 attached.
Elevated areas suggested on the air photo are not necessarily bedrock. Most of them being sand and gravel domes. Some lineaments and indicated faults are plotted on air photo No. A24549 - 174, attached.
