    Streamflow Advisory Overview for AlbertaAdvisories apply to streams and their tributaries unless otherwise noted.

    Since Wednesday morning, an intense low pressure system has brought 80 to 120 mm of precipitation toan area between Waterton Park and Banff; local amounts of up to 200 mm in the upper Sheep River basinhave been recorded.

    High rainfall intensities of up to 20 mm/hr have caused flash flooding conditions and mud slides in manymountain and foothill locations in the Bow River basin.

    An additional 50 mm is possible today in these regions Conditions are being monitored an update will be issued within the next 24 hours

    High Streamflow Advisory Stream levels are rising or expected torise rapidly and no major flooding is expected. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Anyone situated close to the streams affectedis advised to be cautious of the rising levels.

    Flood Watch Stream levels are rising and will approach or mayexceed bank full. Flooding of areas adjacent to these streams mayoccur. Anyone situated close to the river is advised to takeappropriate precautionary measures.

    Flood Warning Rising stream levels will result in flooding of areasadjacent to the streams affected. Anyone situated close to the rivershould take appropriate measures to avoid flood damage.
