Recently thecommunityhasbeendeal-ing with 2 stray dogs, which have man-aged to evade the Animal Control Offi-cers for severalweeks.Onedog is tall &aggressive while the other is short &spirited. They continuously chase therabbits & have destroyed some downspouts on homes. If you see these dogsor any other stray animals, call the CityofAlamoPolicedepartment as theydis-patch the Animal Control Officer; whoworks Monday – Friday 8AM-5PM. Donot approach or walk your pet aroundthese dogs due to their aggression.
There have received several reports onsightings of possums & rats. The Secu-rity department does have rodent trapsfor the community to borrow, butweaskthat you do not keep them any longerthan2weekssoeveryonehasachanceto use them. When you catch a rodent,
call Animal Control as they will comeand take trap&all butwill return the traponce they have disposed of rodent.
The pool restroom outside lights havebeen repaired, a couple of bulbs wentout&onewholeunit had tobe replaced.There are new dry deck mats in front ofthe pool restroom& shower to help pre-vent slipping — thank you volunteersfor installing them. Remember no glassitems at the pool area or in the pool.Dispose of all food items in the trashcans around the clubhouse, not in therestrooms.
The City of Alamo has gotten the con-tracted company to remove all thebrush & bags from the ACCbrush area.We have graded some rock & dirt backinto the low lying areas to help eliminatethe collection of water in that area.
Reflective numbers & number plateshave been ordered and will be installedat theRV area to helpmark spaces bet-
ter. Several of the shed security lightswent out & are being replaced. I haveseveral work orders in for repairs to Se-curity lights along Karen alley, North-cutt & Santa Anna Dr. The street lightsare taken care of by the City of Alamoand can be called in to theCity of AlamoPublic Works department.
I have hired a new bookkeeper, hername is Diane Bliebdrey. When you'reby the office, please take the time towelcome her to ACC. She is originallyfrom New Jersey but has resided in theValley for the last25years.Astaffmeet-ing was held last month to addresssafety issues, employee law, the newtime clock system and discussion ofconcerns. I congratulated the staffagain this year for their excellent safetyrecord of no injuries.
StartingNovember 1, the event fees inthe Pro Shop will be increasing by $1per person. These fees have not been

Summer is over. October is a time forcooler weather & the return of the mi-gratory “Winter Texan”. It is good tohave them back, so they can add theirspecial talent & energy to ACC. One ofthe things thatmakes this placeexcitingand ever-improving is the high level ofvolunteerism. There are many differentways to get involved in this community,each helps the club & makes it a nicerplace to live. We are also getting morenew residents. They could use yourhelp in letting them know about all theopportunities & customs we have here.Welcome them into our family.
We are part of a larger community, theCity of Alamo. In October, ACC willreach out to those businesses & politi-cal leaders to show them our apprecia-tion. The annual ACC Invitational GolfTournament is oneway to include themin our club. The tournament is a scram-ble format scheduled for October 21;see the Pro Shop for details. Anotherkind of community involvement is pro-viding a candidates forum for the up-coming elections. OnNovember 3, theAlamo City elections include contestsforMayorand2of the4commissioners.As always, ACC is a powerful votingblock for good government in the city.Come out the evening ofOctober 15 at
6:30PM to meet the candidates & heartheir plans, if elected. October 5 is thelast day to register to vote in Texas; theoffice has Voter Registration forms foryou DO NOT PUT IT OFF.
MedEX, the new emergency medicalsupplier for City of Alamo gave a pre-sentation at the September BoardMeeting. Itwas informative& refreshingfor them to reach out to help the com-munity.

Summer Pool Volunteers
We'd like to recognize & thank the vol-unteers who helpedmaintain the beau-ty & safety of our pool this summer.

David-Bonnie Lind for allowing the clubto store the unused pool furniture intheir garage for the summer, and StellaRiester with a few volunteers & ACCMaintenance will move the furnitureback to the pool in preparation for thereturn of our friends from the north.

Every Thursday both Pool & Spa are closed until 12 Noon.
All Swimmers swim at their own risk, there is no Lifeguard onduty. All users must sign in by Pro shop window before gettingin. No pets or glassware allowed. If you use any soap and/orshampoo at the pool shower, it is very important to rinse theshower floor/mat off so it isn't left slippery for the next user.

Here at ACC, members donate to the EmployeeChristmas fund & help with presents for Santa to give tothe children. This year the Employee party is December11. Starting in November, a donation envelope will be
attached to the Chatterbox for monetary dona-tions. There will be a sign up sheet on the officebulletin board for the children’s gifts, if youwould like to provide one or more. Last year a to-tal of $11,827 was raised; let’s try to exceed this!

Wednesday, October 21; is the 3rd Resident/Guest Invita-tional. Last year the Golf Shop hosted; this year's hosts arethe Public Relations, Golf, & Activities Committees. This isan event to promote ACC’s outstanding golf course & allACC has to offer. It’s also to show our appreciation to busi-nesses that have sponsored ACC events. Come on down tothe Golf Shop to sign up. It'll be a great time! ☺
Another big golf event is Saturday, October 10 at 7:30PM;check in is 6:30PM. A sign-up sheet for ACC’s Nine at Nightis the Golf Shop; the fee is $12.00 per person. The format isstraight scramble; happy hour is from 6-7PM. Maximum of72 golfers – do not forget to sign up for what should be a funadventurous night!! ☺
Quick reminder, all golfers MUST sign up & pay at the timeof signing up for an event in the Golf Shop. No more call insfor any event is allowed. Golfers please remember to obeyall rules set in place to keep you& your golf course safe. Payattention to signs posted outside the golf shop & on the golfcourse. If a sign is posted and/or you are told by ACC staffthat the course isCARTPATHONLY; thatmeans all golfers,including those with handicap flags should NOT drive off thecart path. Please be respectful & do not ignore this request.A set of tires can cause a lot of damage, which leads torepairs & unplayable areas on the golf course.

It’s Fall, and ACC members are coming back daily, and thegood news is that the dances will be starting again. We’llhave Happy Hour with Diego on Thursday, October 15,3:00-4:30PM. Be sure to mark your calendar; this is a superway to kick off the coming season.
Our Halloween Dance is Friday, October 30, and we havea new group to ACC—PelicanWest Band. The party startsat 6PMwith Happy Hour & dance from 7-10PM. You can getyour ticket(s) for a seat at a reserved table in the Pro Shop.Special prize for the best costume, but costumes notrequired. Tickets are $7 per person; get in line for a howlinggood time!
Our Dance meeting will be on Friday,October 16 at 9AM intheCardRoomandwe hope all members are able to attend.

The Drama Club is working on our annual Veterans DayShow in November. This year there will be some new twiststo the traditional show. We plan to honor Uniformed Heroesthis year — this means that along with ACC members whoserved in themilitary,weplan to recognize thosewhoservedas policemen, firefighters, emergency medical technicians,etc. If you were a volunteer or paid firefighter or any of theabove, we would like to add a photo of you to the slide pre-sentation. All you need to do is supply a photo of yourself inyour uniform or turnout gear to Dale Guckenberger. We canaccept almost any photo format. Not all of the details of theshow have been worked out, but we do promise an eveningof entertainment & respectful honoring to those here whohave served the community & nation with their time & effort.
