Sidewalk Mitigation History

• Adopted August 2007

• Developer choice to pay fee in lieu of site related construction of sidewalk.

• Two projects have utilized sidewalk mitigation option totaling $8,245

• Two of those had preliminary development plan approved prior to sidewalk mitigation adoption.

• One project (Finley Woods) constructed at option of the developer.

Site Related vs Transportation Network

• Current program is based on some sidewalks being site related requirements

• Staff recommends maintaining current system for the time being

• Alternative is to add clear enabling language in the Comprehensive Plan, catalog all needed facilities (sidewalks and multiuse paths), and include them in the Capital Improvements Element and subsequently in the MMTM program.
