Brothers and sisters Alhumdulilah at minimummeans that all the praise and thanks belong toAllah. means as believers we say everything
Allah Ta’la does, whether we understand thereason, wisdom, cause and effect of matters andevents in life or not. As believers we are always ofthe position of being grateful and praise Allah.
In other words we accept our mortality and limitsby accepting Allah’s limitless power, knowledge, wisdom, and all the other attributes that arebefitting to Allah.

Alhumdulilah even in time of hardship.
Suffering/Hardship occurs to teach us we mustadhere to Allah’s natural and moral laws.
Reason for suffering/hardship to: Test our faith in Allah which includes our commitment to
human values and charity
Test our faith in Allah
Believers face the sufferings with prayers, repentance and good deeds. The faithless face thesufferings with doubts and confusions. Theyblame Allah or make arguments against Him.

Definition of Freedom in Islaam: That onlywhen we recognize, know our Creator and wesubmit to His will do we truly become free.
Why is this only true meaning of freedom?Because who best know how we should livethan the one who Created us.

slaves to our whims,
slaves to each other,
slaves to manmade systems,
slaves to power, slaves to money,
slaves to fame,
Slaves to how the people think of us, etc, etc, etc.

refers to the Mercy of Allah, at the present, especially, extremely, merciful at the moment.
And this only applies to Allah. An exampleyou could say a guy is merciful, but that doesnot necessarily mean the guy is merciful at thecurrent moment.
Refers to the especially merciful. MeaningAllah’s mercy in past and the future.

Abu Hurairah reported Allah's Messenger (SAW)as saying: There are one hundred (parts of) mercy
for Allah and He has sent down out of these onepart of mercy upon the jinn and human beings andthe insects and it is because of this (one part) thatthey love one another, show kindness to one
another and even the beast treats its young onewith affection, and Allah has reserved ninety-nineparts of mercy with which He would treat Hisslaves on the Day of Resurrection. (Sahih Muslim)

We need to fear the justice of Allah, because ifAllah’s justice begins on us the there is no
difference between that justice and AllahTa’la’s punishment. Of course the justice isdone for a valid cause, so when Allah’s justicebegins then His mercy ends.

Believing in Allah or God goes hand in handwith believing in the Day of Judgment.

perfect in every way, He is flawless, He isimmaculate, He is impeccable. If one gives anyflaws to God then He is no longer God.

Justice System of this world is imperfect

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/al-faatiha-power-point 25/38
So now I have realized that all the praise and thanksbelongs to the Originator of all that exists Allah ,this makes Allah the Master of all that exists, andtherefore naturally I am His slave, and this Master isthe exceedingly merciful, the especially merciful, and that this perfect Master has put us on this earthto be tested and the injustices that occur in thisworld that are part of the test have to balance outaccording to the Justice of this Master, therefore TheMaster has ordained a day where the balance sheetsare balanced and perfect justice is served.

So now I am going to willing give myself toHim by declaring, , “You alone do Weworship”, and we realize that we need the
Masters helps, so we learn to we declare “YouAlone do we seek help from”
So we willingly give ourselves to the Master, and beseech, and beg His help.

Balance between the competing forces.
Now in addition to establishing perfect justicebetween the needs of the competing forces man vs.women, labor vs. capital, Governments vs. people,
body versus soul we also need to balance. So everyone from secularists, to the Buddhist, to
the Christians all try to establish a balance andthey end up being in imbalanced.
So who can bring the balance between thecompeting forces, again it is the One who created, designed, and engineered these competing forces. That is Allah Ta’la so we are taught by this

Thus We have made you (true Muslims), a just,
middle nation, that you be witnesses overmankind and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW)be a witness over you.

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/al-faatiha-power-point 29/38
So Again the only true balance can come fromAllah Ta’la.
So we seek the hidah or guidance of Allah. Andthis is a complete guidance. Guidance between
halal and haram, guidance in ethics, guidancein morality, guidance in thought, guidance infood, guidance in drink, guidance in attitude,in short guidance in every sense of the word.

When you are thirsty, how do you ask someone forwater. Do you say, “Hand me some water”.
Now imagine you come from hours of being lost inthe desert, you are exhausted, you are fatigued,
you have a pounding headache from heat strokeand you find someone with water. How wouldyou ask them? You would ask more desperately, more empathetically, more from the heart, withmore need, with more urgency – You would beg.
Now we ask Allah Ta’la for hidah a least 17 times aday. Do we ask Him like we really mean it, withdesperation, with need, with urgency with thirst? Iwill leave you to answer for yourself and meanswer for myself.
7/28/2019 Al Faatiha Power Point
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/al-faatiha-power-point 33/38
Al faathiha starts with knowledge of knowing Allah: Knowledge that all praise and thanks is due to Allah – who
the Creator, Maker of Allah that exists. Knowledge that Allah is the master of Allah that exists which naturally makes us slaves of this Praise worthy,
thank worthy, Master. Knowledge that Allah is the exceeding Merciful, the
especially Merciful. Knowledge that Allah is the Master, Owner, and King of the
day of Judgment,
The second part of the Surat al-Faatiha quickly transfersfrom the subject of knowledge or belief to action or practice:Action in worshiping Allah Alone.
Seeking only His help. Seeking only his complete, just, balanced guidance,
7/28/2019 Al Faatiha Power Point
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/al-faatiha-power-point 34/38
Now all of Islam is like in the Faatiha knowledgeand action:
You have to have the correct knowledge, whichyou must follow by the correct action, that is the
blessed or correct path so we say after, as Allahrevealed: Guide us to the path of those who weresuccessful,
So we beseech, seek, entreat and beg Allah Ta’laguide us to the path of Adam, Noah, Ibraheem,Moses, Esa, and Muhammad SAW. Who are thetrue heroes, role models, of successful people ofhistory.
7/28/2019 Al Faatiha Power Point
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/al-faatiha-power-point 35/38
Now the incorrect paths are two extremes. Whathappens sometimes is that people have knowledgebut that do not follow it with action. Andsometimes people have a lot of action but it is notbased on the correct knowledge.
Example is the Jews who had the correctknowledge but they did not follow it up with the
correct action. The Christians have lots of actions, for example
monks, and not marrying women, or Catholicsisters that give their whole lives, but it is action
not based on the correct knowledge.
7/28/2019 Al Faatiha Power Point
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/al-faatiha-power-point 36/38
In Al-Faatiha Allah teaches us to seekprotections against having the knowledgewithout action which earns the anger or rage
of Allah, and these are Al-ma-gh-doob , thepeople who earn the rage or anger.
Also in Al Faatiha Allah teaches us to seekprotection against having action that is not
based on the correct knowledge or Ad-daaleenthe people who are lost.
7/28/2019 Al Faatiha Power Point
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/al-faatiha-power-point 37/38
So in Al-Faatiha we seek Allah’s perfect, complete, balanced guidance, and blessing by saying,
Also in Al-Faathiha we seek Allah’s protectionagainst the imbalance, knowledge with no action,
and action without correct knowledge by saying,
7/28/2019 Al Faatiha Power Point
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/al-faatiha-power-point 38/38
A simple example to drive home the point of seeking protection ofAllah from these two incorrect paths the scholars give. Let us saysomeone asks you for direction to your house. So you draw up a mapand hand them the map, and the person drives towards your houseand decides to just throw away the map and not use it. So that wouldan act of al magh-doob. Someone who had the knowledge and
decides to not use it.The other incorrect path is would be like someone who tries to get toyour house but does not have a map, does not have a GPS, does nothave a phone to call, does not bother to think about asking fordirections, so they drivel around aimlessly, so they have a lot of actionin driving around to find your house but they never find it becausetheir action is based on ignorance so these are the ad-daa-leen .So in conclusion Al-Faatiha is a summary, a nutshell of the Qurran, and indeed Islaam. The scholars say whoever understands Al-Faatihahas understood the essense of the Qurran and Islaam.
