cutting laminated glass.

The Extrication Tomahawk

The new federal motor vehicle safety standard

no. 226 "Ejection Mitigation" is designed to

reduce the partial and complete ejection of

vehicle occupants through side windows in

crashes, particularly rollover crashes, by using

"laminated glass" in all side windows in 2018.

The Extrication Tomahawk can saw through

laminated glass on both windshields and side

windows. There's also a hardened point for

breaking glass and making purchase points. The Extrication

Tomahawk is 10 tools in 1, and

features a laminated glass saw and a

hardened point for breaking glass and making purchase

points.

Bill Benedict has been involved in the Fire

Rescue Industry for over 40 years, and has been

involved in the development of several new and

innovative tools that are used by Rescue

Technicians every day.  Bill has worked with fire

fighters from all over the world to try and

advance the knowledge of tools and techniques

that are used to help in a rescue situation.  Bill

has also worked with Ajax Rescue Tools in the

development of our full line of Auto Extrication

Tools and was instrumental in the recent

development of our line of Urban Search &

Rescue, Structural Collapse tools.  

In addition to all of this, Bill has attended

hundreds of rescue training events and trade

shows over his long involvement in the fire

industry, and he is still planning to attend more

in the future.

Bill has also been the recipient of many industry

awards, including the Lifetime Achievement

Award from N.A.V.R.A (North American Vehicle

Rescue Association).

Ajax Rescue Tools supported this years "Crunch

Time" Vehicle Extrication Training, Symposium, &

Challenge hosted by Harlem Roscoe Fire

Protection District (Illinois) in September 2018!

This three day event is geared toward new

rescue personnel interested in obtaining vehicle

extrication training skills. The event consists of a

classroom session on Friday evening, a practical

workshop on Saturday in vehicle extrication

using both hand and hydraulic tools. Sunday's

challenge consists of a sanctioned extrication

challenge using hand and hydraulic tools on real

world extrication scenarios.

The instructors are from around the USA and

enjoy sharing there knowledge with the rescuers!
