Each timetabled activity has a number corresponding to a location on the MAP for each element of Induction. CONGRATULATIONS NEW STUDENT INDUCTION As part of New Student Induction, you and your classmates will join designated groups and will get to know each other, learn how to find your way around, learn about the great facilities and opportunities you can avail of while you are here, be shown how to access computers and the Library, meet key staff members whose job it is to help you get the most out of your time at AIT. Over the course of the programme there will be student helpers with brightly coloured T-shirts saying ‘Ask Me’, so stop them or any staff member to ask for directions or help if you’re stuck. LIBRARY OVERVIEW: During this session, you will learn all about the Library resources available to you in completing your course of study and associated assessments. WHERE DO I GO? REGIST- RATION This is where you officially register as an AIT student. Have your Bank Giro and your best smile ready for your NEW COLLEGE I.D CARD. INDUCTION + This is an optional element of New Student Induction geared towards students who might want a little bit more information about supports available throughout your time e.g: Students with medical conditions Long term Illness Mental health difficulties Students with specific learning difficulties Mature students Students with disabilities • International students etc. During this session you meet tutors, learn about supports through the Access and Disability Services, meet current students from diverse backgrounds who will tell you about their college experience and answer any questions you might have. This is a great opportunity to meet each other and form friendships which will last throughout your time at AIT. ORIENTATION AND GUIDED TOURS During this segment, you will be broken up into smaller groups and guided around the college by one of your Lecturers who will you give essential course information.
