X. Flight Training Performance Standards

A. Flight Training—critique of PT performance during scenario completion is primarily the PT’s responsibility, with the Instructor ensuring that the PT reviews all flight deficiencies in the post-flight debrief. Each scenario sub-activity (task) will be evaluated and both PT and Instructor should agree on the desired PT outcome as indicated in the EC225LP Task / Flight Matrix at the end of this document. In the event there is a dispute between PT and Instructor, the Instructor’s evaluation will be used. Prior to the end-of-course flight evaluation, the PT and Instructor will discuss and reach a consensus on the PT’s readiness for the evaluation. The Training Center Evaluator or designee will conduct the end-of-course flight evaluation which will be evaluated based on Practical Test Standards criteria as defined in the current FAA FAA-S-8081-20 PTS. A FITS Learner Center Grade of “Perform” indicates the PT can fly the maneuver to PTS standards.

XI. Lesson Plans for Stage II - Flight Training

A. Standard Course Length This is a proficiency-based syllabus and minimum flight times are given only for guidance and planning. While most PT’s will complete in the programmed time, it will not be used as a basis for course completion.

When combined with another student 12 Hours (5 hrs. PIC + 5 hrs. SIC + 2 hr. check ride) When training must be completed as single pilot 8 Hours (4 hrs. PIC + 2 hrs. PM duties as SIC from right seat + 2 hr. check ride) During all flight activity the PT will consider all of the following Safety and Resource Management items:

The following safety items will be considered by the PT:

a. Taxi procedures b. Proper communications with agencies c. Proper airspace surveillance d. Proper fuel management e. Wake turbulence Avoidance f. Monitoring the autopilot system for desired responses g. Workload management and airspace surveillance during normal and emergency procedures

The following Resource management items will be considered by the PT:

a. Utilize aircraft automation systems to reduce pilot work load b. Proper checklist utilization c. Familiarization with avionics to be utilized d. Proper radio communication procedures e. Aircraft operating procedures and limits f. Utilize proper tasks prioritization g. Properly anticipating future autopilot functions and programming them when able

B. Classroom Briefing Time

This course will typically include 30 minute pre and post flight briefing

I. EC225LP Recurrent - Training Guide This document is only one aspect of the total training program. This volume incorporates curriculum for the EC225LP recurrent training program; specific curriculum segments and various subject modules supporting those segments. The definitions for curriculum segments and course syllabi, as used in this manual, may be found under the curriculums section. While the curriculum gives guidance as to the general areas of study required by the student, the course syllabi provide detailed information on the subjects to be presented. Modular Training is the concept of program development in which logical subdivisions of training programs are developed, reviewed, approved, and modified as individual units. Curriculum segments and modules may be used in multiple curriculums. The modular approach allows great flexibility in program development and reduces the administrative workload in the development and approval of these programs.

A. EC225LP Recurrent Training - Specialty Curriculum -

1. Course Title

EC225LP Recurrent Training

2. Regulatory Requirements

This curriculum meets the requirements 14 CFR 61.58 to ensure that the pilot is currently proficient and able to act as a Pilot-In-Command of an EC225LP Helicopter. This curriculum and associated syllabus meet all of the requirements of a specialty curriculum per 14 CFR 142 Subpart B - Aircrew Curriculum and Syllabus requirements. FAA and Training Center approval of this Curriculum will be indicated by the signature of the FAA Training Center Program Manager (TCPM) on the associated Log of Revisions and List of Effective Pages document.

3. Course Objective

To ensure that the pilot is currently proficient in the EC225LP aircraft and able to act as a Pilot-In-Command of the EC225LP aircraft IAW 14 CFR 61.58.

4. Curriculum Completion Standard

The pilot in training must demonstrate through practical tests and appropriate records that he/she meets the knowledge, skill, and experience requirements necessary to safely operate the EC225LP in accordance with the current FAA-S-8081-20 Practical Test Standard. Each individual must satisfactorily complete at least one stage of training within each training period of not more than 90 days. VII. Record Keeping Record keeping is an integral part of training. Without adequately documented records, training never took place. All records needed to properly document all phases of the training program (enrolment prerequisites, written tests, and evaluations). Only approved documents as provide as part of the curriculum may be used. Each approved curriculum contains all the components necessary to train, check, and document a training event. Each curriculum is designed and based around an approved Pilot Training Guide and Instructor Pilot Standardization Guide. These documents, based on FAA Practical Test Standards (PTS) describe the maneuvers, objectives, and standards that will be used when training at AH Inc. Each instructor and TCE shall use the “Instructor Pilot Standardization Guide” as their reference when teaching, critiquing, and evaluating a maneuver. Training Center staff may only use the most current approved curriculum as documented in the current “Master Curriculum List” contained within the Training Center Curriculum Library. Each staff member shall ensure they have the most current curriculum by comparing the curriculums LOR/LEF against the approved “Master Curriculum List”. To ensure an audit trail, the version of the curriculum used during a training event shall be documented on the approved grade slip. All instructors are trained to the same standards as defined by the approved EC225LP Instructor Curriculum.
