Fluitex® Woven Fabrics for Pneumatic Conveying(Airslide® Fabrics)
Solid woven fabrics are used as a porous media on pneumatic conveyors and silos to handlepowdered or granular materials such as cement, flour, fly ash etc. They are also used toassist the discharge of silos and road/rail trucks used to transport such materials, fluidisingthe powder to aid flow.
There are four main fabrics used in this application for normal conditions, Cotton, Polyester,Nomex® and Kevlar®.
Solid woven construction and porosity tested during manufacture to ensure conformance tothe permeability required.
Traditional Cotton fabrics have been used for many years in the cement industry, and are stillavailable in a limited number of widths with woven selvedge. Polyester fabrics are notaffected by moisture as are the Cotton belts, and are available cut to width with heat sealededges. Two anti-static grades are also available.
Modern Hi-Tech fibres like Nomex® and Kevlar® are used for demanding applications wherehigh temperature and/or aggressive chemicals are involved. Such applications are found inpower generating plants, and particularly in the expanding Green Energy industry sectors:EWF (Energy from Waste), CHP (Combined Heat & Power), RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel),ERF (Energy Recovery Facilities), APC (Air Pollution Control residue), and IBA (IncineratorBottom Ash).
All of our Airslide fabrics are available in open rolls, cut to size pads or fabricated shapessuch as cones.
