Air Only – (re-test) In Cab Tractor Start: 1. Block the Wheels 2. Drain Wet Tank - Drain Wet Tank or explain A.D.I.S (Air Dryer Integrated System) Under The Hood: (Side 1) (Side 1) 3. Engine - Compressor (Governor) / Main Air (Discharge) Line 4. Brake (tractor axle - # 1) - Air Line / Brake Chamber / Brake Push Rod Travel (1/2 to 3/4 inch) (Side 2) (Side 2) 5. Brake (tractor axle - # 1) - Air Line / Brake Chamber / Brake Push Rod Travel (1/2 to 3/4 inch) 6. Hood - Close & Secure - Close Wet Tank (if applicable) In Cab Air Inspection: 7. Ignition ON - No ADIS – confirm the One-Way Check Valves are working (air pressure still up) - Start Engine - in neutral, clutch 1/2 way down 8. In Cab Air System - Governor unloads Compressor (needles stop climbing, steady pressure) (105 - 135 psi) - Release Spring Brakes - (Tractor Button IN) - Fan Brakes down to between 90 & 100 psi (no lower than 80 psi) - Governor check: Governor reloads Compressor (air pressure starts climbing) - Low air warning: fan Brakes until Warning Devices come on - (60 psi or above) - Fan Brakes until both needles are below 50 psi - Set RPM between 1,000 to 1,200 - Time: air building 50 to 90 psi (confirm less than 3 min.) - Confirm Spring Brakes released - (Tractor button IN) if out - Build air until Governor unloads Compressor (105-135 psi) 9. Leak Test - Shut off Truck - If electric gauges - ignition may need to be in ON position - Make a full brake application for 1 minute (time after gauges settle) - Confirm Air Loss is no more than 3 psi in 1 minute Brakes Check: (Down Side 1) (Side 1) 10. Brakes - (tractor axle - # 2) - Airlines to & from Air Tanks / Air Tanks / Brake Chambers - Brake Push Rod Travel (1/2 to 3/4 inch) 11. Brakes - (tractor axle - # 3) - Airline / Brake Chamber / Brake Push Rod Travel (1/2 to 3/4 inch) 12. Cab - Apply Spring Brakes - (pull Tractor Button OUT) 13. Blocks - Make sure the Spring Brakes are applied / Remove Blocks Tests: 14. Start Engine - In neutral, clutch 1/2 way down 15. Tractor Brakes Tug Tests - Tractor Spring Brakes 16. (Side 2) (Side 2) 5. Brake (tractor axle - # 1) - Air Line / Brake Chamber / Brake Push Rod Travel (1/2 to 3/4 inch)

6. Hood - Close & Secure - Close Wet Tank (if applicable)

In Cab Air Inspection: 7. Ignition ON - No ADIS – confirm the One-Way Check Valves are working (air pressure still up)

- Start Engine - in neutral, clutch 1/2 way down 8. In Cab Air System

9. Leak Test

- Shut off Truck - If electric gauges - ignition may need to be in ON position - Make a full brake application for 1 minute (time after gauges settle) - Confirm Air Loss is no more than 3 psi in 1 minute

Brakes Check: (Down Side 1) (Side 1)

10. Brakes - (tractor axle - # 2) - Airlines to & from Air Tanks / Air Tanks / Brake Chambers - Brake Push Rod Travel (1/2 to 3/4 inch)

11. Brakes - (tractor axle - # 3) - Airline / Brake Chamber / Brake Push Rod Travel (1/2 to 3/4 inch) 12. Cab - Apply Spring Brakes - (pull Tractor Button OUT)

13. Blocks - Make sure the Spring Brakes are applied / Remove Blocks

Tests: 14. Start Engine - In neutral, clutch 1/2 way down 15. Tractor Brakes Tug Tests - Tractor Spring Brakes 16. Truck Response Test - Tractor Service Brakes Roll & Apply Foot Brake

Manual Slack Adjuster - ½ to ¾ inch by pry bar

1. Pull Slack Adjuster - Pull slack adjuster to check the direction the S-Cam rotates (brake application)

2. Turn Adjusting Nut - Turn the adjusting nut so that the S-Cam rotates in the same direction as the brake application. Turn until it is tight

3. Pull Slack Adjuster - Pull the slack adjuster to check that it is tight 4. Back Adjusting Nut - Back the adjusting nut off 1/4 to 1/3 of a turn (approx. 20 minutes on a clock) 5. Pull Slack Adjuster - Check that the push rod has ½ to ¾ of an inch of travel 6. Check Locking Collar - Make sure that the locking collar is out over the adjusting nut
