Introduc onVAQ series air handling units was developed and manufactured for years, with advanced Italian technology to meet the

requirement of clients. The unit features novel structure, a rac ve appearance and flexible assembly, stable opera on, complete

func on and easy installa on & maintenance. The parts all u lize famous brands. The moulds and equipment are all exported from

Italy.

The units have many func onal sec ons: air supply, cooling, hea ng, humidify, dehumidify, air purify and silencing. The units are

widely used in the air system of many industries like mechanical, electronic, tex le, medical, metallurgy, chemical, energy and food,

etc. The units are also ideal for restaurants, office buildings, hospitals, theaters, and supermarkets etc. The use can choose the most

economic and op mized func ons with so ware according to clients requirement.

Features

A. The components was standardized, and common in applica on, it makes convenient in assembly and maintenance, 200mm is the

basic value for each module ( Refers a “M” in following) , the machine dimension can be changed with flexibility to meet the clients’

requirement to maximum limit. We provide the users with 26 standard and 30 non-standard configura ons, 56 kinds of models, 280

kinds of specifica on, air flow from 3000~240000m3/h for op on, and there are more than 20 types of func onal sec ons for each

model.

B. It’s framework construc on, and can be flexibly assembled at site. The site assembly, maintenance and dismantle is convenient for it

scien fic modular design, especially for units of large or extra large size.

◆ Modular design

The unit adopts aluminum alloy frame and compound aluminum alloy of high strength.

1. The frame, with harden and polished surface, has features of high strength, exact dimension, elegant appearance, light in weight, etc.

2. Anodizing protec on film on the aluminum makes the shell more elegant and an -corrosive.

3. Its compound aluminum alloy frame and no-cold-bridge design guarantee great air ghtness and heat isola on performance.

4. Easy to assemble, disassemble and maintain.

5. PVC sealing.

B. Insula on panel

1. The plenum panel is double skinned type, polystyrene or polyurethane with two steel sheets on both sides, or fire proof polyurethane

made by high pressure foaming equipment, guarantees perfect heat insula on performance.

2. For high pressure foamed polyurethane panel, the exterior is colored steel or sprayed plas c steel of 0.5mm or 0.6mm, interior is same as

exterior or galvanized sheet, the sound & heat insula on performance is be er than other normal insula on material, and its heat conduc ng

coefficient≤0.55W/M2.K, which meets Europe air handling unit standard EN1866T2. It has the best performance on heat and noise insula on,

fire proof, strength, rigidity, cleanness, etc.

C. Cooling coil

1. The coil is made of copper tubes and corrugated aluminum fins.

2. Water eliminator can be galvanized sheet, aluminium alloy, stainless steel, ABS, fiberglass or wet film type.

3. Dry drain pan.

D. Fan motor

1. Three phase asynchronous motor, IP54 protec on, and F class insula on.

2. High efficiency, low noise.

E. Filter

Many kinds of different filters for op on: G3/G4 plate prefilter, F5/F6/F7/F8 bag medium filter, F9/H10 plate sub HEPA filter.

Normal approach

VICOT approach

This structure is to put colored steel on aluminum profile frame and fix

them with bolts, which is a metal to metal contact. Due to air pressure, the

panels and frame are easy to separate from each other. The appearance is not

a rac ve due to the outside bolts.

In order to avoid such situa on, Vicot developed its maze like sealing

structures to eliminate the metal to metal contact between panel and

framework, reducing air leakage.

The frame is made of aluminum alloy. The panels and frame is sealed

with PVC. The cabinet has no cold bridge. The cold bridge defending ability

reaches European TB1. The special double door sealing ensures air ght

environment.

The thermal conduc vity U(W/m2.k) in the following table is measured under 20K stable temperature differentce.

Op onal accessories◎ Control system is op onal and can be designed according to the clients’ requirements, such as: temperature and humidity control of

supply air and return air, an -freezing control, filter pressure differen al control, fresh air damper and fan motor coordinated control,

indoor/outdoor temperature difference compensa on energy saving control, building management system, etc.

◎ Variable air volume func on

VICOT can use asynchronous three phase motor with characteris c of pressure adjustment and speed change to achieve AHUs’ air flow

regula on and energy-saving by the inverter speed adjuster, which has so starter to reduce the impact to electricity facility and can do

stepless adjustment according to indoor temperature/humidity detected by sensors. Inverter brand can be DANFOSS,ABB,SIEMENS, etc.

According to the design, control-box can be equipped, which has the following func ons: total pressure and delta-star start and stop,

phase/overload protec on, motor overheat/over current protec on, and malfunc on alarm etc.

Humidifica on methods

This sec on is designed and added according to users’ requirements.Steam hea ng coil adopts galvanized steel pipe rolled with aluminum sheet or steel pipe rolled with steel sheet. Its maximum

working pressure is 0.4MPa, and it can be 2 or 3 rows.

Note: 1. Air inlet temperature 7oC;

3. Parameters in above table are data of steel pipe rolled with aluminum sheet type;

4. Pararmeters in different face veloci es are 1.04 mes of above.

5. Please contact with VICOT for parameters in different steam pressures.

1. There must be one interlock device between fan motor and electric heater. Electric heater must be turned on a er fan motor starts up and

turned off before the fan motor stops.

2. The casing of electric heater must be earthed.

3. Insula ng resistance must be checked before the first opera on. The heater can be used only when the resistance is higher than 1MΩ. If

the ressistance decreases due to no use for a long me or uncared maintenance, it should be heated or electrified to recover its insula on. If

it cannot be recovered, it should not be used.

4. Check its insula ng resistance periodically.

5. Turn off the power before maintenance.

◎ Wet-film humidifica on: equal-enthalpy humidifica on, high satura on efficiency, saving space, sharing same sec on

with cooling coil to reduce the total length, no water treatment.

◎ Dry-steam humidifica on: isothermal humidifica on, high efficiency, stainless steel material, an -corrosion, having

Wet-film humidifier

Dry steam humidifier

It humidifies air through natural evapora on of water. Its basic medium is plant fiber. The plant fiber is sintered to form overlapping

corrugated plate polymer composites a er special process, which have strong water absorp on, good self-cleaning ability, non-toxic,

acid resistance, mold resistance and fire-retardant. Its structure can provide the maximum contact surface with air and body of 1 square

meter has contact area of 500-600m2. When dry air passes the wet-film, water molecules will absorb heat from the air, vaporize and

evaporate, which inceases the air humidity. It can use running water or domes c water. Its features are as floows:

Its process is that filtered saturated steam enters into the humidifier, flows axially in the steam sleeving rods and heats the center

spraying rods by the latent heat of steam for ensuring to spray pure dry steam (without condensed water). Then, the saturated steam

enters into steam water separator chamber through steam sleeving rods; in the chamber is annular baffles; when the steam passed it,

it will rotate and flow upward ver cally to separate steam and condensate; the separated condensate is discharged through the trap.

When air needs to be humidified, the regula ng valve will be opened and dry steam enters into center sparying rod and is sprayed out

for humidifica on.

Drag coefficiency

This sec on uses damped muffler, which consists of preforated plate with built-in sound-absorbing co on and has good noise

reduc on effect in a wide frequency range. The silencer can be made of galvanized steel sheet(standard), aluminium sheet or s anless

steel plate, with features of li le internal resistance, low noise, heat-resistant, humidity resistant, easy to clean, etc. Sound absorp on

band can be changed through changing perfora on diameter and rate.

Table of fan power

According to air flow and external sta c pressure, select forward or backward fan. The fan is F class insula on, IP54 protec on, and

380V/3Ph/50Hz power or others. Fan and motor are mounted on the same frame. There are spring shock absorbers between the frame and

unit. And, the outlet of fan has flexible joint for reducing shocking.

1. Before installing unit, check unit’s model, parts and appearance, etc. according to manual and packing list. Then, open the

access door and turn blades of fan by hand to check if there is any metal grinding noise; if it is, solve it.

2. Unit should be installed on a flat base, which can be concrete type or made by steel channel and should be 160mm higher than

ground at least. There should be drainage ditch and floor drain around the base, for draining the condensate and sewage. And,

there should be enough space for maintenace.

3. The pipe below of heat exchanger is water inlet and above is outlet. Pipings should have their own brackets for bearing their

weight and avoiding unit to bear load. Install check valve for adjus ng water flow and maintenance, and Y-stainer for filtering

impuri es on the water inlet pipe; install air vent at the highest point of system and drain valve at the lowest point. Due to

nega ve pressure, the condensate pipe should be connected to a U-shaped water trap first and then to the sewer (See diagram

of water seal).

4. There should be flexible joint between unit and air duct. Air duct should have its own brackets for bearing the weight.

5. The power is 380V/50Hz/3Ph. A er electrifying, check fan’s rota ng direc on; if it is reverse, change phase sequence of power.

6. Motor should be connected to power with protec on device. Case of unit should be grounded. Motor of more than 15kW

shoud adopt reducing voltage start.

7. Power controller should have phase protec on and overload protec on.

8. There should be enough space for maintenance.

31 321. In the seasons (except winter) that heat exchanger isn’t used, fill it with water fully for an -corrosion.

2. In winter, if the unit isn’t used, drain all water in the heat exchanger and blow the remaining water by compressed air for

an -fros ng.

3. When the unit isn’t used for a long me, close fresh air damper, drain water in heat exchanger, loosen belt, and add lubrica ng

oil.

4. Water in the system must be clean and demineralized water is be er.

Maintenance

When it is nega ve pressure, A=B≥P/10+20mm

When posi ve pressure, A>P/10+20 mm B≥30 mm

P is the air pressure value at this posi on.

About Vicot Group1. Before star ng the unit, check each manual/electric valve.

2. Check fan’s bolts, belt and blades.

3. Check air duct’s valves, water pipings, electric system, controll components and wiring.

4. Exhaust the air in the unit and system.

5. Filters should be washed or replaced periodically.

6. The fan and motor parts should be lubricated regularly according to environmental condi ons.

7. The unit should be operated by professional persons. Check unit’s opera on regularly and remove the abnormal situa on.

8. Ensuring the insula on of ven la on system and water system is good enough.

9. During the using, if there is any damage or aging, like canvas, repair or replace it immediately.

10. In cold area, open the heat resouce 5-10 minutes before star ng the fan in order to avoiding cold air to form ice jam. When stoping

the unit, a small amount of hot water should circulate in the coil to prevent rust and frost.
