Welcome to Ms Reid’sGenetics Class Things you should know about this class :1.There will be 4 formal written lab reports.2.There will be 2 paper (essay) reports & 1

project.3.There will be a 10min 10question quiz

every Friday.

1. There will be regular quizzes about every 2 weeks.2. There will be 2 Tests (exams) every term.3. You may retake a test or a test only if you have completed

and handed in you exit slip.4. You will not have homework every night. However you will be

given a homework pack every Tuesday and it is due the following Tuesday.

5. All make up work will be done after school.6. I will not accept missing work that is more than a week old or

if we went over the assignment in class.7. There will NO extra credit at the end of the term to boost your

grade.

8. If you are absent, you are still responsible for the work you missed. All lessons and homework packs are located on the genetics website: http://msreidsgeneticsclass.weebly.com

1) You will need a notebook and a folder for this class. You will need a pencil and a pen. All test and quizzes (except 10 mins 10 question quizzes) are done on scantrons. If you borrow a pencil from me or have to leave the room to get a pencil during a test or quiz, 5 points will be deducted from your test.

2) You have to do your homework. I am required to call parents up if a students misses 2 homeworks.

• Be on time. There is a lot of information you need in this class. If you are late or miss a lot of class time, you are missing important information.

• Be prepared. If you are looking for pencils, paper during class time, your are missing information.

• Do the work. All the work you will be doing is designed for you to lean the concepts

• Hand in your work on time. Late work will have points taken off. Just hand it in on the due date and get the full amount of points that you deserve.

• Take this class seriously. You need it to graduate and I will not give you a pass to graduate. You need to earn it.

The use of the bathroom is a privilege, not a right. I have the right to deny this privilege base on the following:

1)You come to class late that day.2)You did not complete your assignment.3)You are not doing your work.4)You are talking or being disruptive in class.5)You have not done the homework

assignments6)You are failing the class.

1) There will be no eating or drinking (except water) in this classroom. New York State rule about science classrooms.

2) Take your garbage with you! Do not leave water bottles and papers on the floor or under your desk.

3) No usage of any electronic devices any time. First time I see it I will ask you to put it away Second Time I see it I will take it from you and you may get it after

class Third time I see it or if you argue the second time I will have

someone else take it (Dean Byrd, Ms. Brown, ect.). They might take you along with it and you will receive detention.

4) Do not touch the any equipment unless told to!!5) Do not write on the board or the smart board unless told to.6) Raise your hand for all questions, including the use of the

bathroom.7) Respect one another. Bullying or put downs will not be

tolerated.8) The Teacher’s desk and area is off limit to students!!
