Water Flow (direction is determined by gravity)
Rivers can flow in any direction so long as they flow
downward.

Artesian Wells are similar to springs in that they are sources of water. However, the water is under pressure.

Sometimes not… This is Cape Agulhas the southernmost point of Africa.
Lakes vs. Seas
• Generally speaking lakes are not connected to oceanic water (they are landlocked), consist of freshwater, and tend to smaller than seas and oceans.
• However, sometimes lakes are salty and or are called seas.
What is the worlds largest lake?
The Caspian Sea is the world’s largest landlocked body of water. It
is large and salty and is not normally considered to be a lake.

Lake Victoria in Africa.
Lake Baikal: The World’s most voluminous lake. What does that mean?
