High Capacity Applications
In a conventional tracked or cantilever sliding gate system,
which normally operate at around 0.25m/second, a 6m
gate would have an opening/closing cycle of approximately
1 minute. Therefore, if there were to be more than
30 vehicle movements per hour the gate would be
almost permanently open, thus providing temptation
for ‘tailgating’ or unauthorised pedestrian entry if the
gate is unmanned. AGP Speedgates open and close in
under 4 seconds, allowing them to cater for high volumes
of traffi c without slowing vehicle fl ow.
AGP Speedgate is an innovative and effective solution to the problem of secure
vehicle access control and is becoming the gate of choice for a variety of applications.
The AGP Speedgate is as secure as a sliding gate yet as fast as a simple boom gate.
Top or Bottom Drive Mechanism
The AGP Speedgate is available in either a top or bottom
electric drive controlled by PCL electronics and a frequency
convertor. With Speedgates bottom driven version, trucks
and other high vehicles can pass through with no thought
of damage to the vehicle or gate. The drive mechanism is
built into a concrete pit. A fail safe, smooth performance
is guaranteed by an infrared system and horizontal and
vertical safety buffers.

Easily connected vehicle detection loops make automatic
operation of the AGP Speedgate completely safe for people
and property. Standard security equipment such as card
readers and closed circuit TV cameras can be connected
for seemless integration into a total building security system.
