Increased Microbial Activity

AGGRAND Natural Fertilizer increases bacterial activity insoil, leading to stronger, healthier plants. Aerobic micro-organisms such as bacteria, ungi and protozoa eed oncarbon sources, causing a process known as mineraliza-tion. Mineralization produces plant-available nitrogen andphosphorus that helps plants grow and develop.

To determine the amount o bacterial activity in soil, thecarbon dioxide (CO2) produced by microorganisms is mea-sured. Higher levels indicate more bacterial activity, hencemore potential nitrogen and phosphorus available to plants.

Although chemical-based ertilizers have high nitrogen,phosphorus and potassium levels, plant-use efciencycan be very low. In addition, they are oten high in sol-uble salts that are toxic to soil bacteria and help createcompaction and nitrifcation conditions, resulting in plantstress. Research shows soil treated with AGGRAND Natu-ral Fertilizer demonstrates increased CO2 levels comparedto a leading chemical ertilizer, meaning increased bacte-rial activity or healthier plants (see graph).
