People:
• 14 people moved into other roles within finance and other parts of UNSW
• President’s Award Nominations 3 teams, (1 team nominated twice) plus 5
individuals
• 40 Finance Star nominations
• Developed an interactive Induction program for new starters in FST
• Daily huddles covering up to 6 locations
• Brown Bag lunches with the Director every quarter at city and campus –
ask anything you want!!
• Feel good Fridays – ending the week on a positive note
• Celebrated monthly birthdays and many other occasions

Finance Services:
• Improved turnaround times from 84% in 3 workings days to 99.5% in
3 working days on increased volumes
• Took on additional work
o AGSM, Kirby institute, 3 Medical research centres
• Improved Processes across Billing and Purchasing

Accounts Receivable
• New work taken on:
o Collections for Law, Coop and MED,
o Receivables for Unisearch and NSI
o Processing of 40% subsidy for staff enrolment into UNSW courses
• Reduced Student and Sponsored Student debt to the lowest in over
5 years
• Many process improvements, including
o Automated ANZ Global daily bank statement report
o Created Onestop journal transaction type in Onestop to
automatically process bank charges
• Team has dedicated one hour each Friday to focus on improving their
skills and knowledge

Accounts Payable & Helpdesk:
• Insurance enquiries migrating to Help desk
• New Purecloud Telephony system introduced
• Vik our Robot implemented for the creation of Domestic& International
vendors in NSF – saving 30 mins per vendor created
• Reduced credit card o/s greater than 60 days from Nov 2017 $1.7 mill
to Nov 2018 $183k
• Kicked off the Expense management system project which will enable
users to acquit credit cards and enter exp reimbursements more
easily and timely

And there’s more:
• Commenced the building of the Accounting Support function
• Moved Engineering FST into Chancellery, now only one team located
within a faculty/division (Business)
• Introduced (Nov) a Customer feedback survey link on every closed
case – our most recent weekly survey produced a result of 82% of
respondents rating us 5/5 for customer service
