He was Director for European Instuonal Affairs and Bilateral Relaons at the Directorate General for European Affairs from 2009 to 2012. The Consulate General of Portugal in San Francisco covers 13 states: California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii. It serves the Portuguese and Portuguese-American communies numbering around 500,000. It comprises an Economic and Commercial Secon (AICEP’s Office) focusing on aracng investment to Portugal in 4 industries from Southern California: Aeronaucal & Space; Auto & Components; Chemical & Petrochemical; and Texles & Garments – and 4 other major Northern California sectors: Agriculture & Food; Clean Tech; Life Sciences; and of course Informaon Technology. Sean Randolph is Senior Director of the Bay Area Council Economic Instute, where he served as President & CEO from 1998-2015. Dr. Randolph previously served as director of internaonal trade for the State of California and was Managing Director of the RSR Pacific Group. Before that, he served as Internaonal Director General of the Pacific Basin Economic Council. His professional career also includes extensive experience in the Department of State and the U.S. Government, including Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy for Internaonal Affairs. The Bay Area Council Economic Instute is a partnership of business with labor, government, higher educaon and community leaders that works to support the economic vitality and compeveness of California and the Bay Area. It produces authoritave analyses on key economic issues in the region and the state, and mobilizes leaders from diverse backgrounds around targeted policy iniaves. Miguel Frasquilho is the Chairman & CEO of the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency (AICEP). He has previously served as Vice-Minister of Finance and Treasury of Portugal. Several terms a Member of the Portuguese Parliament, he held several leadership roles, such as Chair of the Public Works, Transportaon and Communicaons Commiee – the legislave commiee for ICT. In the private sector, he worked in investment banking and finance. aicep Portugal Global is the Portuguese Government Agency responsible for promong inbound and outbound FDI & Trade, awarding and managing incenves and grants to both; as well as proposing legislaon and measures for a business and investment friendly framework, addressing maers of regulaon, context costs and market access. Stephan Morais is an Execuve Board Member at Caixa Capital, where he leads Venture Capital, and co-leads Private Equity and Fund of Funds investments. He has a diversified background as investment banker, consultant, entrepreneur and CEO and is non-Execuve Director and Advisor to numerous innovave companies and member of Investment Commiees of several VC and PE funds. He also heads internaonal partnerships with other investors and instuonal investment partners. He has a passion for creating B2B products, scaling teams through rapid growth and defining processes that help to streamline operations.

Ricardo is a technologist at heart and a believer in the importance of simplicity and good design in any product.

ThousandEyes is a network intelligence platform that provides immediate insights across all the networks and connected devices organizations rely on. It arms network engineers, operations teams, support/service desk staff, developers, and even business users with an accurate, up-to-the-moment understanding of what’s happening in the network – both inside and outside the organization.

Sofia Pessanha is a growth expert with startups in her DNA. She is co-founder and CMO of Unbabel, responsible for all outgoing marketing, communications and sales. She built her marketing expertise with global mobile content company TIMWE. During this time she developed her love of technology and entrepreneurship leading her to co-found Beta-i, a Lisbon based entrepreneurship program incorporating international accelerator The Lisbon Challenge.

Unbabel is a Y Combinator-backed company combining artificial intelligence with professional translators and bilinguals in order to deliver translation services with a human tone and nuance to businesses. As companies target international markets, speaking their customer's language is a key component of success. Unbabel works with companies including eventbrite, trello, skyscanner and many others to enable their communication in multiple languages.

Pedro Santos Vieira is an engineer turned manager, with deep experience in the tech world. His first venture – GoodGuide – was backed by NEA and DFJ and helps companies sell, and consumers buy, safer and healthier products. He also has been building some experience on the other side of the table, as an angel investor and by scouting and assessing investment opportunities for institutional VCs. More recently Pedro led the creation of West to West.

West to West is a Silicon Valley non-profit working to create and support a thriving environment for Portuguese entrepreneurship in San Francisco.
