Techniques such as case studies, role-playing, open questions, games, quizzes, etc., are used to constantly stimulate the audience and to maximize the acquisition and retention of knowledge. Lecture time is kept to a minimum. The techniques of counseling are learned by role-playing and case studies. The handouts are designed to encourage note-taking in logical places to further reprocess the newly acquired information. PHARMACISTS

All continuing pharmacy education programs accredited by Northeastern University are transferred electronically to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) CPE Monitor System. Continuing Pharmacy Education credits will be issued to participants electronically by logging onto the website www.rxce.neu.edu, creating an account (which includes an NABP Identification Number), inserting the activity specific code number and successfully completing the activity assessment/evaluation form. Participant names will be checked against attendance sheets for verification of attendance. Go to www.NABP.net to obtain a pharmacist specific NABP ID number. NO credits will be issued after 60 days from the original program date.

Requirements for Credit

Pam Tarlow has been a licensed community pharmacist since 1981, when she received her Pharm.D. from the University of Southern California (USC). For over 19 years she has specialized in integrative pharmacy, helping customers and professionals effectively use natural products, integrated therapies, and pharmaceuticals for prevention and health care concerns. Currently Pam practices at Santa Monica Homeopathic Pharmacy and consults with private clients, community pharmacists and other practitioners. She is a preceptor for USC and Western University Pharmacy School students and teaches part of the Self-Care course. Pam is also on the faculty of Yo San University (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and CEDH – homeopathic training for pharmacists. Her commitment to continuing her own education in personalized, lifestyle-based functional medicine informs her approach when she lectures to diverse groups on natural medicine, nutrition, hormone balance, therapeutic aromatherapy, meditation, and mindful eating.
