IMPORTANT CHANGE

On January 1, 1993, all U.S. manufactured products with serial numbers were assigned a NEW serial number format.The new format identifies the country of manufacture, the manufacturing facility in the designated country ofmanufacture, the year of manufacture and the month of manufacture. Please refer to SECTION 1 of this servicenotice for details. Canadian manufactured units will be assigned this new format by mid-1993.

IMPORTANT CHANGE

For Canadian manufactured products and all equipment manufactured prior to 1993, please refer to the attachedserial number tables listed in section 2,3, and 5. The attached tables list the serial number assigned to the first weldingmachine or first motor manufactured for that corresponding year. Because monthly production is uniform, bypro-rating, these lists can be used to determine the approximate month of manufacture of a unit.
