Parade of Nations and Opening Ceremony
• Assemble at Elder Park amphitheatre at 17:00• Following a briefing the parade will start at 17:30 and take a route of
1.2km, crossing the River Torrens via the footbridge and returning to Elder Park via the riverbank path and King William Street
• The Official Opening Ceremony and Pasta Party will follow at 18:00• A limited number of additional pasta meal tickets will be available for
purchase at registration between 2pm and 4pm today – cash only• Wrist Band MUST be worn to obtain your meal
Cut off times
• All athletes need to be off the bike course by 11:30am. Athletes remaining on the bike course beyond this time may be removed from the course
• The Para-Duathlon race starts at 12:30. Any athletes still on the run course after that time may need to wait and/or be escorted to the finish to avoid any interruption to the para-duathlon
Sprint Blue - Standard Red
• Please note that age group race bibs, accreditation (wrist bands) and course signage is colour coded
• Sprint Course is colour coded in Blue• Standard Course is colour coded in Red
Check-in Procedures
Entering the Venue• All age group athletes will receive a wristband.
This must be worn in order to access the race venue and transition area
Time Schedule• Bike Check In on Saturday from 12:00 to 16:00• Transition open on race day at 06:00• Sprint Race – transition closes at 07:15• Standard Race – transition closes at 07:45
Transition Bike Check In
Saturday – 12:00 to 16:00• All athletes must rack their bikes during this time
• A Bike mechanic will be present at the venue for any last-minute requirements (note there may be a fee for any service required).
• Athletes must bring their helmet with them to the Bike Check In. Athletes who do not bring their helmet will be sent away to get it.
• Bikes and helmets must have the appropriate race number stickers attached
• Helmets may be taken away overnight
• Transition will be secure overnight
Race Day Check In
Transition Opens at 06:00• Athletes must either be wearing their National
Federation uniform, or have it available for inspection.
• Athletes should also have applied the temporary tattoo race numbers supplied in their race pack. Body marking will be available for athletes whose have incorrectly applied their tattoo.
• A Bike mechanic will be present at transition for any last-minute requirements (note there may be a fee for any service/parts required).
• Pumps will be available for use
Race Day Check In
• Only equipment required for the race may be left in transition. All bags must be removed and taken to the bag drop. Any bags that are left in transition will be removed by Technical Officials.
• Athletes must not mark their transition space in any way. This includes the use of towels. Any such markers will be removed by the Technical Officials
• The bag drop is in the main pavilion. Ensure your bag is appropriately labeled
The Venue
Pre-start Procedure
• At 7:15am Sprint Athletes and 7:45am Standard Athletes should be at the pre-start assembly area
• Technical Officials and Volunteers will assemble athletes in start wave order.
• There will be multiple pre-start pens which athletes will start to enter approximately 15 minutes prior to their start time
• There is only one or two minutes between start waves so when requested you must move quickly to the start line.
• There is a timing mat which athletes will cross as they enter the starting area
• Select a position and stay behind the line!

Athletes in position:• The start can be given any time after the TD
announces ”On your mark”• Air horn blast • The race starts

• Sprint = one lap 5.22km• Standard = two laps – 9.97km• Aid stations:
• Three per lap (Two for Sprint/ Standard Lap 1)• For locations see the map• Water, isotonic drinks• Discard plastic cups off course and any gel
wrappers etc within the marked littering zones around the aid stations
• Distance markers – 1km and 1km to finish

Advice of Penalties
• How do you know if you need to serve a penalty?The official will do the following –
• Sound a whistle or horn• For drafting -show a BLUE Card –
else a YELLOW for other infringements
• Call your number• Advise you of the penalty• If you are shown a RED CARD, you
may be disqualified
Penalties
• You must stop in the next Penalty Box and must stay there for 1 minute for sprint distance/ 2 minutes for standard distance
• It is the athletes responsibility to stop in the next Penalty Box. Failing to do this will result in disqualification.
• A second drafting offence will lead to a disqualification

Medical Procedures
• Only LOC Medical Staff area allowed in the medical area.
• Every NF accredited doctor MUST have completed the proof of medical license and proof of malpractice insurance!
• The NF accredited doctor is allowed in the medical area only when an athlete from their country is in the area.
Important Updates
• Collection of Bikes from Transition• After last athletes have cleared T2. For sprint – approx 9.45am – for standard approx 11.30am• LOC would appreciate bikes being cleared reasonably promptly and certainly by no later than 2pm
Closing Ceremony
•Age Group medalists must be at the presentation area at the Intercontinental Hotel by 6:30 sharp wearing their National Uniform •Team Managers or representatives may collect medals for their athletes who are not able to attend the ceremony – medals will NOT be posted out
