THE YEAR OF THE GOATUnlike the numerical Western calendar - the Chinese have a unique system that provides us with information about prevailing elemental influences at any given point in time. It makes use of the five elements - water, wood, fire, earth and metal - and their cycles, to determine the various aspects affecting the whole world. In Chinese astrology, the goat is the eighth animal to hear the call of Buddha and this sensitive animal has many attributes that make up its character. The goat is generally altruistic with a compassionate and helpful manner. With a warm heart this kind and gentle person has lots of appeal, so they’re never alone for long. The beguiling goat also achieves what he wants from life in a mild-mannered and easy going way. 2015 is the year of the wood goat and it is influenced by two elements - wood and earth. This coming year is represented by the image of earth sitting below wood. In accordance with the destructive cycle of the five elements - wood controls earth. Therefore they are elements in some conflict. Even though these elements are in discord and wood controls the earth – the year of 2015 will still be strongly influenced by the earth element as it forms the foundationAs a consequence, in the year of the goat we will continue to see some tension in international relationships particularly in the gulf region if history is to repeat itself. However, even though there is some disharmony and conflict around the world, with the more flexible elements present, there is a much better opportunity for compromise and resolving differences in a peaceful manner than there was last year. The Chinese calendar moves in cycles of sixty years so, the last time we experienced the wood goat was in 1955.

Whilst the Vietnam war began in that particular year, 1955 also marked the signing of many International treaties signalling the end of conflicts and a vote for compromise and reconciliation. West Germany joined NATO, the Baghdad Pact was signed, the Soviet Union and other communist countries formed the Warsaw

Pact, Burma and Japan made peace. So…even though there are many conflicts around us – I am hopeful that similar results will also occur this year. The earth of the goat is very dry like in a desert area therefore the wood sitting atop is weak, so 2015 will bring about more drought and accidents related to the earth element such as earthquakes, avalanches and landslides. Hurricanes and the like are also more prevalent during the coming year. The dry

elements of wood and earth, present a need for genuine concern around the possibility of serious environmental damage. In addition, given that the Gulf Wars in 1991 and 2003 were also in years of the goat then the current situation with ISIS is a real cause for concern. As with everything in life there is the flipside and 1955 also produced some great innovations. Lloyd Conover invented the antibiotic tetracycline, which became the most prescribed broad spectrum antibiotic in the US within three years. The first commercial TV station began in the UK, Disneyland opened in California, the First Guinness Book of World Records was published. The antiproton was discovered in 1955 and has since been shown within laboratory experiments to have the potential to treat certain cancers. The general consensus is that the element of fire is the driving force behind the economyand given that earth is produced by fire, then the international economy should continue to improve slightly or at the very least, stabilise.

The industries most likely to perform well during the year of the goat are those such as fashion, textile, print and publishing, media and food industries. These should see good gains and rewards for their efforts.

Also, watch the banking, machinery, engineering, computer, and high tech industries. Entertainment, electricity, gymnasiums, restaurants, finance, oil and energy related industries along with transport, travel, shipping and communication will see productivity increases when operated well however, the returns aren’t outstanding. The industries most likely to be challenged during the coming year are mining, insurance, agriculture, chemical industries, software and the property market. These sectors will experience pressure on prices and see a lot of competition during 2015. Although profits can be made, considerably more effort will be required to achieve this and the profits will be weaker than expected.Traditional Chinese medicine is also based on the five elements and their cycles. Wood rules the liver along with the neck and spine, whilst earth governs the stomach, cells, pancreas and muscles. The goat, being of the earth element and symbolising the stomach, cells and muscles could also bring with it more health problems relating to these areas of the body. For instance, we could see a rise in the incidences of cancer, particularly bone cancer due to the pressure that wood exacts on the earth element this year. There could be a distinct rise in diabetes and problems with kidney and immune functions. Bring on the anti-oxidants. Throughout 2015 there will be a clash that occurs for those born in the year of the Ox (e.g. 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009). For those born in these years it’s highly likely life will be a little more turbulent and you will feel somewhat restless, frustrated and

interested in travelling more frequently and in general, making changes in your life. It is advisable to be more cautious during the coming year and avoid extreme sports and high adventure activities, thereby doing your best to avoid accidents throughout the year. It is also sensible to sidestep opportunities for traveling towards the southwest. And…as an additional precaution, wear a pendant of the horse for some further symbolic protection. For those born in the year of the goat; (e.g. 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003) this does not automatically equate to a good year as you are offending the Grand Duke. So it is also advisable to carry or wear a charm of the horse

as a precaution against disturbances during the coming year.

The animals in harmony with the Goat year are the Horse, Rabbit and Pig so…have some fun. It is important to remember that this current Feng Shui period represents and predominantly

impacts children, particularly boys. This has been the case since

2004 beginning with a fire killing 94 children in July at a Kumbakonam

private school and the siege in Beslan’s (Russia) secondary school on September 1 where 334 people died, including 186 children. More recently we’ve seen the South Korean ferry boat disaster and the Hong Kong student protests. At the time of writing we have just heard the sad news of the massacre at a Peshawar school, in which 149 people - 133 of them children - were killed. The flipside is that young people are also positively impacting on society and being recognised for their efforts in a way that we have not previously seen. With respect to Feng Shui you will find a troublesome influence coming from the west bringing with it difficulties and obstacles. This energy needs to be dealt with (especially if your main door or bedroom is in the west) by placing an all-metal wind chime in this sector of your home or office. The worst months will be April, June, July and January 2016The southeast will require a string of six metal coins to be placed in this area, particularly if this is the location of the master bedroom, kitchen, living room or main entrance.

For those born

in the year of the goat; this does not

automatically equate to a good year, so it is advisable to carry or wear a charm of the horse as a precaution

against disturbances during the coming

year.

In the South you will find the energy of scandals and so it is best to place 3 bamboo stems (or stems of any plant that grows in water only) in a clear, black, green or blue vase at this point of your home or office. At the core of every building resides the influence of anger, frustration and theft. Placing red objects (even red paper) in this location reduces this impact on your life. However, given that this influence also signifies events on a global scale and so it is reasonable to expect more earthquakes or landslides. China relates to the centre and so this country could be affected, particularly the western regions. Finally, do not sit with your back against the west or northeast especially whilst you’re working. It’s also advisable to not carry out large-scale construction work in the southwest for the coming year, as this is the location of the ‘grand duke’. Should your home face southwest then place a Dragon Tortoise to face this direction.I hope you all stay well and happy during 2015 and that the coming Year of the Wood Goat will allow your plans to unfold bestowing your family and loved ones with great success and fulfilment.

Melbourne based architects, Elenberg Fraser have designed a number of these new multi-residential developments including Victoria One, on the corner of Elizabeth and Franklin Streets; EQ Tower on the corner of Elizabeth and Latrobe Streets; Lighthouse on the other corner of Elizabeth and Latrobe Streets, The Avenue in A’Beckett Street. What is most evident, is not only Elenberg Fraser’s creative, innovative and cutting-edge design, but that some Feng Shui principles have been included in the external forms and facades, as well as the interiors.Rather than a typical rectangular tower, Elenberg Fraser’s building forms are fluid, organic and combine Feng Shui “Elements” in a harmonious and “productive” manner – Water / Wood forms or Wood / Fire forms using shape and colour to advantage. With each new development, the building shapes have become more fluid and undulating ensuring that there are no sharp corners or angles creating “Sha Qi”.

Feng Shui & Melbourne’s Multi- Residential TowersMelbourne’s CBD is undergoing a rapid transformation with several high-rise development recently approved by the Planning Minister Matthew Guy. The shift to high-density inner city living has attracted many investors from China and Asia. Therefore, has the increased interest from Asian Developers influenced the architecture of Melbourne’s new buildings?

Has Feng Shui become more relevant as an integral part of the design of these new projects?

Even with difficult sites, corners are “rounded off” to provide a continuous and smooth flow of Qi.Elenberg Fraser’s Victoria One, on the corner of Elizabeth and La Trobe Streets, was designed for Chinese Developer “Golden Way”. This 75 storey development comprises 629 apartments, retail on the Ground Floor & Level 1 and residential facilities – pool, fitness centre, communal lounge, bar and dining areas. The façade is distinctive with its shimmering emerald / jade green façade made up of mirror and glass, with lush landscaping to the podium levels giving the building a feeling of abundant growth. The inspiration for Elenberg Fraser’s design were the soft silver shades and iridescent greens found in Victoria’s gardens, waterfalls and rainforests. The elegant and sophisticated interior spaces reveal the subtle influences of Feng Shui principles.

As well as curved forms in the design generally, all furniture has been carefully selected to guarantee that there are no sharp corners or “poison arrows”. All chairs have smooth curved backs, lounge chairs are circular, tables round, light fittings and bespoke joinery all circular, curved and rounded off. Quality finishes include polished stone, soft furnishings, timer and Corian and together with the Jade green furnishings and carpets add a sense of opulence and abundance. The effect is relaxing and comfortable yet fresh, stylish and contemporary. The curved theme has even been extended into apartments with sweeping curves to external walls and circular and rounded shapes being incorporated into the bathrooms – mirrors, edges to vanity tops and fittings and fixtures.

Whilst it’s uncertain whether a Flying Stars Audit has been conducted by the Client’s own independent Feng Shui Consultant, it is clear that some of the principles of Classic Feng Shui have been incorporated in terms of colour, shape form and design.

The Avenue, a newly-completed 16 storey residential tower on the corner of Alexandra Parade and Chapel Street in South Yarra, is another project by Elenberg Fraser, for developer Fridcorp. The fluid, “ripple” shape of its rose-coloured mirror façade mimics the “Water” element of the Yarra River opposite. The apartments enjoy magnificent city views across the Yarra River to the north and wonderful views down Chapel Street, to the south.

The undulating façade provides internal spaces with curved external walls that eliminate the square or “boxed in” feeling. The apartments generate a relaxing, yet exciting atmosphere and together with the stunning views, must be wonderful to live in!

The north-facing apartments in particular, have the most amazing energy and I’m certain that any school of Feng Shui whether it’s Flying Stars or Bazhai Mingjing, will confirm that the “charts” of these apartments are very auspicious.

EQ Tower is a new 63 level, 632 apartment tower complex again, designed by Elenberg Fraser, located in 127 – 141 A’Beckett Street in Melbourne’s CBD. Elenberg Fraser have used the latest in glazing technology in the design of EQ Tower, in order to maximise natural light and views across to the bay and CBD, as well as reducing energy costs for residents through a more even distribution of temperature. The

special glazing panels reflect sunlight and surroundings and these change as you look up the building. The building shape is quite unique - “WOOD & FIRE” shape that almost resembles a chimney or shot tower. Its form is impressive and powerful. Interestingly, EQ Tower broke all records when over 90 per cent sold in a matter of weeks. EQ Tower has attracted interest from both local and overseas investors, so what makes it so successful? Is it the clear and innovative design, its icon form or the Feng Shui of the building?

With a northwest facing direction and built in Period 8, EQ Tower has an extremely auspicious Flying Star Chart with the Water

Star 8 (representing wealth and abundance) in the facing, coming directly into the Foyer, as well the Mountain Star 8 in the sitting – the ideal situation in Feng Shui. The lift core located in the centre, activating the Water Star 9 (future prosperity), and this energy is carried to the apartments. After analysing the individual apartments, it’s clear the most of them also have excellent Feng Shui.

The apartment layouts have been well designed with the front door, master bedroom and kitchen locations in “auspicious” formations, in relation to Bazhai Mingjing Feng shui. Communal areas again, have been designed to include soft furnishings, curves and semi-circular shapes where Qi flows smoothly and is uninterrupted.

It’s an exciting time with so many new multi-residential developments occurring in Melbourne’s CBD. What will be interesting to see how the Feng Shui of these towers, with their strong Water, Wood & Fire forms, affect Melbourne’s CBD in the future?

Page 11: AFSC News January 2015

9January 2015

How will the nature of Water, Wood or Fire affect the residents of these buildings and the character of the Melbourne’s CBD? Or are these buildings simply a reflection of the changes in our society? With the expansive, spreading energy of the “Fire” element and its association with fame and reputation; together with the innovative, assertive, competitive and optimistic nature of the “Wood” element, perhaps these iconic buildings symbolise Melbourne’s new direction - competitiveness and recognition on a world-wide scale.

EQ Tower, The Karaoke Room

With the Asian investment market in Melbourne continuing to be strong, there has never been a better time for Feng Shui to become an important and integral part of the architectural and interior design of these developments as well as the relevance of Feng Shui in building design today.# Images / Renders are the copyright of Flood Slicer and

The term ‘’Ba Gua’’ means ‘’8 Symbols’’ and refers to 8 Trigrams which are made up of sequences of three lines (solid and/or broken) placed in a vertical row, one on top of the other. When the Trigrams are combined (ie doubled), they become 8 x 8 different combinations known as Hexagrams, which are explored in detail within the ‘I-Ching’ (also known as the ‘Yijing’ or ‘Book of Changes’), which originated around 2205B.C.E. The meanings associated with the 64 Hexagram combinations provide a blue print for exploring and understanding the various underlying patterns and cycles in nature and the unseen energy forces around us.

Lillian Too points out in her book ‘Flying Star Feng Shui for the Master Practitioner’, 2002, (p10),

“The broken and unbroken lines correspond to the dots and dashes of the binary code exactly .... Scientists have also discovered that the 64 Hexagrams of the I Ching correspond to the 64 DNA genetic code that are the basis of all life on the planet. It is thus possible that in the I Ching lie the hidden meanings to life’s existence.”

Trigrams are the foundation of yin and yang philosophy with the Qian Trigram (made up of 3 solid lines) representing Heaven/Yang qi and the Kun Trigram (made up of 3 broken lines) representing Earth/Yin qi. There are 2 sequences of the 8 Trigrams used in xuan kong feng shui - the Xian Tian Ba Gua and the Hou Tian Ba Gua, which are used to observe the cyclic interaction of yin and yang qi and determine how the movement of qi affects people.

“When the world began, there was Heaven and Earth. Heaven mated with the Earth and gave birth to everything in the world”

Feng Shui and the Ba Gua By Derelle Ball

(King Wen, Zhou Dynasty, 1122-256 BC).

For many people in the western world the term ‘’Bagua’’ is known for having 8 specific Life Aspiration labels that correspond to various directions and elements, (which is loosely based on the Hou Tian sequence of Trigrams). This concept was invented in America around the late 1970’s and has been simplified even further to a ‘’Fixed Bagua Map’’ which no longer includes any actual directional aspect, other than being orientated from an external doorway leading into a building and/or the doorway leading into internal rooms.

Many clutter busters, space clearers and diviners of all sorts incorporate this simplified 8 Aspiration Fixed Bagua concept into their work and automatically label it Feng Shui.

Page 15: AFSC News January 2015

13January 2015

So, it is then assumed for example, the North sector and/or the front centre section of any home, business or internal room automatically corresponds to the “Career” location. This method then automatically allocates the water element to this area and dictates you can improve your ‘’Career Luck’’ by decorating with a water feature and also by nurturing the water element with metal element colours and forms in conjunction with placing a plethora of symbolic objects in this location to support supposed “Career Luck” for all the occupants living or working in the building.

And here is the problem - you see this is not authentic Classical Feng Shui, but rather a fun, quick fix, easy to apply, one size fits all approach that corresponds very much to an individual’s Mankind Luck (ie the individual’s personal aspirations).

The westernized new age quick fix simplified Bagua approach does not address the inherent qi (living energy) of the surrounding land form, (which corresponds to your ‘’Earth Luck’’ and has the greatest impact on the actual Feng Shui affecting any building) or the time period of construction and compass orientation of the building itself, which reveals the internal flow of qi affecting the occupants.

While applying the new age 8 Aspiration Bagua Methods to their home or business, most people feel very empowered that they are affecting positive change in their life. This is great, and I have no problem with this whatsoever and acknowledge they are focusing positive energy on their individual Mankind Luck when doing so (ie their internal qi which corresponds to their personal aspirations, goals, intentions and desires in life), however they are NOT addressing the actual Feng Shui because this method does not in any way examine the actual qi (living energy) affecting the building.

Classical Feng Shui examines the macro and micro Earth Luck (ie external environment as well as inside a building) in order to determine who is being affected by what type of energy, where it is occurring, what the most likely result will be and how to balance, retain, protect and harmonise this energy flow inside and outside so the building is fundamentally nurturing its occupants. Xuan Kong Da Gua is a specialised branch of Feng Shui that allows the practitioner to further fine tune nurturing potential and synchronicity of the qi affecting a home and/or business in conjunction with specific periods in time and the inter-relation this has on the Hexagrams of the individual’s day and year Gua according to their date of birth. Many Classical Feng Shui practitioners also examine the 4 Pillars astrology of their clients so they can inform them of specific luck cycles

and supportive elements according to their date of birth, which addresses the client’s Heaven and Mankind Luck.

4 Pillars astrology addresses the Heaven Luck of the client by pinpointing the elements and periods of time

most favourable to them personally, advising which area of their life is currently affected in a positive or negative way, with recommendations on how to navigate the peaks and troughs in their life accordingly. 4 Pillars astrology addresses the client’s Mankind Luck by recommending where their main focus should be during specific cycles of time and how to make the most of the character and energy of their individual Day Master qi as well as ways in which they can tap into their personal luck qi via the climate in which they live, the colours they wear, the occupations, skills and investments that are more likely to bring additional luck potential their way and so on.

Page 16: AFSC News January 2015

14 AFSC News

Space clearing is GREAT and I wholeheartedly support and practice this myself, however I also recognise the difference between addressing the Mankind qi which is the main focus of Space Clearing, (ie the energy created inside a building via the interaction of people, eg arguments, sickness, unhealthy pastimes, unhealthy internalised focus, depression, predecessor/ghostly phenomena etc) compared to the assessment of underlying qi affecting the actual building via the surrounding landform which indicates the reason WHY the people are interacting the way they are.

Now, for those who want to practice the simplified new age 8 Aspiration Bagua Methods to their home or business, I strongly recommend you avoid painting walls red (eg DO NOT assume the SW sector and/or far right corner of the building or internal room automatically benefits your love and relationships by adding large amounts of fire element colour) and avoid using large water features (eg DO NOT assume you are automatically enhancing your abundance luck by placing a large fountain in the SE sector and/or far left corner of the building or internal room). For some homes, this may be fine, however for others it is definitely NOT.The reason I give you these 2 specific pieces of advice is because in the 14 plus years I have been practicing Classical Feng Shui professionally and full time, I have repeatedly come across heart breaking examples where people did add a red wall or a large water feature to their home/property according to the simplified 8 Aspiration Bagua methods which soon resulted in devastating consequences.

For example, the case where a lady painted the walls of her SW sector bedroom red in the hope of stimulating enhanced love energy with her partner. Soon after the colour change her partner hung himself in their bedroom.

I was asked to visit this home around a year after the tragic incident had occurred, and I had no idea about the history of the occupants when I arrived. According to a Classical San He and Fei Xing/Flying Star Feng Shui assessment of the home and surrounding landform, there was sha (negative) external mountain qi affecting the SW sector, the internal energy in the SW sector was inherently negative and needed a LOT of protective metal element and the room required regular access to the ruling 8 energy (which was currently blocked). I told the client the red walls in the SW sector of her home were potentially quite dangerous and should be replaced as soon as possible with metal element colour and forms, recommended a different bed orientation to draw in more supportive qi for her Ming Gua and advised screening of the negative landform outside the bedroom window.

At this point of the consultation the client burst into tears and explained what had happened shortly after painting her SW sector bedroom walls red in the hope of attracting more love qi according to the 8 Aspiration Bagua compass method. She tragically lost her partner, fell into severe depression and had also suffered ongoing abdominal issues.Of course, this could all merely be coincidence and I did not examine the 4 Pillars astrology of her former partner’s birth chart, however the negative energy created by the surrounding landform and addition of fire element to the SW sector of this specific home is exactly what the Classical Feng Shui indicated.

Page 17: AFSC News January 2015

15January 2015

A second example is the case of an affluent client who lived in a West facing home with the main entry located in the Northwest sector. According to the Fei Xing/Flying Star Feng Shui of the building, the main entry was very positive for the client and her family because it generated the ruling 8 qi in the water star, so I advised adding a beautiful water feature to the Ming Tang in this location and positioned it according to 9 Star Water Method which supported a Ju Men water dragon for enhanced income luck. This worked VERY well for them.

Early 2006 I heard back from the client asking if I could advise about putting a pool in the West sector of their property. I strongly advised against putting a pool in the West sector of their property because it would unbalance the inherent qi and increase the probability of significant money loss due to legal problems, theft and deception. I emphasised the fact that the annual 5 Yellow energy was currently affecting the West sector of their property and if they chose to ignore my advice, the inherent negative flying star combination, negative surrounding landform feature in this sector of the property, plus the trigger of excavating and adding a large body of water to the West sector that year would greatly increase the probability of severe financial loss and legal problems affecting the occupants. Of course, the West sector at the front of their home theoretically corresponded to the ‘’Career’’ location according to the Fixed 8 Aspiration Bagua method and the West sector is known as the ‘’Children and Creativity” location which corresponds to Metal and is in harmony with Water according to the Compass version of the new age 8 Aspirations Bagua method.

I next heard from the client around 7 months later. She was in tears and re-read my recommendations back to me over the phone in ironic hind-sight and confessed they had decided to ignore my advice and had dug up the West sector and installed the pool. Since then, her husband’s work place had unexpectedly gone bankrupt and he was left holding the blame as one of the financial advisors, while the CEO had fled the country. Their bank accounts were frozen and they were faced with a lengthy court case and terrible emotional and financial stress.

I have many other examples of negative repercussions to the client’s health and finance qi when adding a large body of water or painting a large area red in their home according to the new age 8 Aspirations Bagua methods, so like I said earlier, it’s fine to use this method with positive symbols and linking them to your intentions as per your Mankind Luck, just don’t confuse the issue and assume you are also addressing the actual Feng Shui of your home or business in the process.

I have often been told the wonderful results we get in Feng Shui are due to a “placebo effect”......it works because you believe it will. This is because Feng Shui cannot be explained in terms of Western Science. After working for more than 10 years as a Feng shui consultant, I needed to prove that the Stars used in Xuan Kong Fei Xing exist and that the results are “real”. I give a full written reports on all my professional consultations so I had the charts of more than 400 buildings as well as the Ming Guas of the people who had chosen to live or work in them. Many clients have told me how the building just “felt” right and they knew they wanted to buy it before they walked through the front door. None of them knew anything about Feng Shui at that stage so I wanted to see if this attraction could be explained in terms of Xuan Kong Fei Xing Feng Shui.Different people respond positively to different buildings so this indicates Ming Guas probably played a role. The first thing I looked for was direct matches between my clients Ming Guas and the Period of the buildings (Central Time Stars). For example....... how many Ming Gua 4s had chosen a Period 4 building, how many Ming Gua 6s had chosen a Period 6 building etc. There are 9 Periods and 9 Ming Guas (I included Ming Gua 5 in this project) so we would expect a one in nine chance (11%) of finding a match. Many buildings could have been chosen by either the husband or wife so in these cases there is a two in nine chance (22%). Overall, I could expect 18%.

Scientific Proof that we have a Sixth Sense based on Ming Guas and Mountain Stars By Andrew Graham

There were 23% direct matches between Ming Guas and Periods. This isn’t significantly different in statistical terms. Similarly, there is no significance in the number of direct matches with Central Mountain Stars (14%), Water Stars (14%), Facing Water Star (19%), Facing Mountain Star (21%) and Water Stars coming through the front door (16%).However, there were 32% matches between Ming Guas and the Mountain Stars at the front door and 40% matches with the Mountain Star in the sector where they first came close to the building. Because there are often two different Mountain Stars on either side of the door and it is possible to approach the building from two different sectors, we would expect 25% and 24% respectively. In statistical terms, 40% is significantly more than 24% so I concentrated on direct matches between Ming Guas and the Mountain Stars in the sector where they first approached the building.

“Feeling” the Mountain Stars indicates my clients were emotionally reacting to something they physically felt when they first came close to the building. To test this, I put the buildings that were built by my clients into a separate category as they couldn’t have physically felt the Mountain Stars before the buildings were built. I also included the buildings where major renovations were made (usually with a change of Period) as this would have changed the Mountain Stars in the sector where they first approached the building. In this category there were 23% actual against 25% expected matches.Meanwhile, there were 46% actual against 24% expected matches in the remaining buildings................a very strong indication that my clients were choosing buildings based on a emotional subconscious “feeling” generated by the interaction of their Ming Guas and the first Mountain Stars they “felt”.I then looked at the buildings that were chosen for work purposes. There were matches in 26% of these against 18% expected.............not very significant in statistical terms. This shows my clients didn’t choose work buildings because of an emotional subconscious “feeling”. They are chosen for practical logical reasons. This left 239 buildings that were bought or rented as a place to be lived in without making major renovations. There were 54% direct matches which is more than double the 24% expected. I gave these figures to a statistician who calculated it would be impossible to get this number of matches unless there is some connection between Ming Guas and Mountain Stars. If there is a connection between two things it means these two things must exist so Ming Guas and Mountain Stars must exist.

This shows that Feng Shui is a very real physical phenomenon..............it is not based on belief. We are actually physically feeling and reacting to the Feng Shui of a building whether we are aware of it or not.In Western scientific terms, this seems to prove that human beings have a sixth sense. It is based on magnetism and something to do with cycles of time and affects our subconscious emotional responses to buildings. It is easy enough to replicate these results. I use the professional software from Fourpillars.net which is based on the teachings of Joseph Yu at the Feng Shui Research Centre. These days I use Google Earth and compensate for the magnetic declination to find the facing direction, but I used a compass in a lot of my earlier work. When I first discussed this in the Feng Shui Research Centre egroup, some people agreed with my findings while others did not. It soon became obvious that this requires having a free choice of building and being able to choose on a totally subconscious emotional feeling. It won’t work where governments allocate houses or restrict your choice. It also won’t work if there is a acute shortage of housing so you have to take what you can get. I suspect it won’t work for buildings that are consciously chosen for Feng Shui or any other reasons. QMDJ can be a powerful tool in guiding us in our actions in life. In our experience of applying QMDJ to various situations for our clients and in our own lives, I am often in awe of its amazing wisdom. I am reminded of a case about the health condition of a friend’s mom which took place in March of 2012.During a phone conversation with a friend, the health condition of his mom was brought up. His mom was an elderly woman suffering from dementia and she also had periodic lung infections. This time our friend told us that she was again hospitalized for lung infections. Furthermore her dementia had progressed to the point that she had episodes when she could not remember how to sign her signature or could not even recognize her own children. We decided to take a look at the QMDJ chart to see about her condition. The following is the chart:

The mom’s birth year is Bing Yin. It is found in Qian palace. Qian is void. It also represents the head. It contains Rice and shows the sickness is in the head and void indicates loss of memories. Additionally, Rice in a metal palace also indicates sickness in the lungs. Here Bing is in tomb. Together with Geng in the earth pan, Death door and Flying Snake, the situation looked grave.

Using QMDJ to assess an elderly woman’s health condition

by Masters Ying Li & Eduardo Hess Furthermore the Tai Sui of the year Ren Chen is in Xun, which clashes her palace Qian. This indicated that 2012 would be very difficult for her. At her age, with such state of her condition, this did not bode well. The hospital and doctors are represented by Heart. It is found in Gen palace. Heart is drained by the Qian palace where Rice is. The doctors have no effective treatment for her. However, in this QMDJ chart we also saw hope for improvement in the near future. We predicted that if our friend can start giving her certain type of alternative remedies and that if she could make it through October of the year, she would be able to gradually recover. We advised our friend on the alternative remedies he could give her to treat her condition. These consisted of certain types of food, and herbal supplements. Sure enough, she made it through the October and started to recover. Her memory gradually returned and the lung infections abated. Now after two and half years she is able to enjoy her life with friends and family. She even started to carry on conversations with people again. Today, she continues to improve. People around her are simply amazed with her miraculous recovery. This is one of the case studies discussed in our QMDJ Level I material. To learn how we were able to see hope and find the right type of cures for her through reading this QMDJ chart, please come and join us in QMDJ Level I. You will learn this and other real life examples of QMDJ divination for health situations.Originally posted on August 23, 2014https://fengshui8.wordpress.com/2014/08/23/qmdj-assess-an-elderly-woman-health-condition/

VICThe Melbourne AFSC Group met on the 9th November at The Wharf Hotel in Docklands. The numbers were down a little on previous meetings, due to being close to the weekend of the Melbourne Conference. However we had a very productive time, sitting in the sun, overlooking the water, and discussing several current case studies.

Or next meeting will be held in March. Time, date and place to be decided. We are looking for a venue where we can meet regularly for dinner. Please put Thursday 5th March as a tentative date in your diaries, for now.

NSWEleven Members attended the NSW meet-up held on December 2nd. We all had a great time chatting away discussing the Melbourne conference and planning for events for next year here in Sydney. Some members attended for the first time.
