AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge

Security

• Afghanistan is a dangerous place

• Recent Green on Blue

• 438 AEW implemented new Force Protection measures

• AAF flightline may be safer than some places in the States

22

AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge

Honor

• One of the most important aspect of their personalities

• Dis-honor is taken extremely badly

• Makes accountability extremely touchy

23

AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge

Will We or Won’t We?

• Troop strength decisions – How long will we stay?

– How many troops will we have?

• Drawdown = reduced footprint

• No security at “closed” bases

• Pull military and contractors back

24

AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge

Rewarding

• Growth

• How often do you get to help stand up an air force?

• Or a Nation?
