Affordable Biblical Studies Program1. Objectives:

The program is designed for students who like to study the Bible, partially or in a series group of studies for personal enrichment and learning. The program enables students to learn the Bible and all its theological and spiritual truths. The subjects enable the student to have a better walk with Jesus Christ, gaining spiritual and theological bible truth. These subjects, purely from the Word of God, enable the student to become a strong witness for today’s ministry as well as building their relationship with the Lord.

Why An Affordable Biblical Studies Program?

Most people cannot afford a College education or Seminary tuition that is based on credit hour learning costs. These credit subjects may range from $125. to $250 or more for a three credit, one subject course. The program is affordable because it is based on a subject-by-subject fee cost where students may study at their own pace and meeting their financial budget.

What Makes The Program So Effective?

Not only is this program cost effective, it provides a well-rounded Christian Biblical education. The program also provides an accelerated method of study that enables those students seeking certificate or minister credentials with the opportunity to advance much quickly, to achieve their goals. Some level certificate programs may take less than twelve (12) months to complete.

2. Pay As You Go

In this program the student does not have to make down payments or have a tuition expense each month. Students who enroll would take subjects, as they feel comfortable with in regard to cost and their time schedules. Once they complete those subjects, they move on to other bible subjects in the program. They pay for subjects as they go along in the program, meeting their personal budget finances.

3. Study Requirements

Each Bible Book is a self-study correspondent study of that book which has a question workbook to be completed. Unlike a credited course study, in which the student has to complete questions and exam or essay requirements, here the student may complete the studies without examination or term paper

-2-requirements. The only textbook the student needs is a Study Bible. We recommend that the student have a Bible Dictionary or Bible commentary, if possible. The most important book needed for this program is your Personal Study Bible and the Seminary Question packet in most cases.

4. Non – Credit Program

The Affordable Biblical Studies Program is not for college credit, nor can it be transferable to Christian college credit program of studies. Transfer of credit from institution to institution is the independent choice of Christian Colleges. NYC Full Gospel Theological Seminary will make special allowances for our Affordable Biblical Studies program and accept some of the unit studies as transferable upon the student meeting certain learning tasks and cost differences between credit and non-credit programs. Please contact our office for more information regarding credit eligibility. When a student completes a Bible Study or a Series Bible Study – they receive a Completion Card for each study they complete with a grade point, Pass or Fail.

5. Biblical Education Units (BEU) Continued Christian Education

Students in this program earn Continued Christian Education units for each subject they complete. The education unit is not to be misunderstood with college credit. The unit hour designates the amount of study time used for such education. A unit of study is approximately ten (10) hours of personal study in a particular course. The term: Biblical Education Unit is used to evaluate the total number of hours a student had spent in a particular course of study. The abbreviation BEU is used to designate the hourly study for each course. Most subjects are one and a half ( 1.5 ) BEU hours of study (or about 15 study hours) per subject. Some subjects are more and the series studies are combinations of 1.5 BEU’s each which add up to, the total BEU earned in that combination series.

6. Subject Course Code Numbers

There are three divisions which subjects are listed. First is our Biblical Studies – which is coded, numbered as BIB subjects. Second are our Bible Doctrine and Theology Studies – which are coded by BDT. Third – there are subjects for Ministry Training, which are coded with MIN. designations.

13. Biblical Studies Course List (BIB) Affordable Biblical Studies Program and Book Series The courses below may be taken collectively as series or independently as a Bible Book Study. Some of the courses and or series are worked into the general requirements for Certificate Levels. Each course is an inductive Bible Study of each book of the Bible and is based on a full study of each bible book text, or subject. Studies consist of a workbook with questions that must be completed. A subject book report is required after each study. The book report requirements vary with the subject matter. These book reports are about two to three pages for each subject. The Seminary provides a guide sheet on how to write the book report survey. The student is required to have at their disposal various commentaries or other resources to complete their assignments. The Seminary will provide a list of such resource material.

CERTIFICATES - For completing 30 Continued Christian Education units,students are eligible for Certificates each year. There are four certificates levels:

First Year Biblical Studies - Total of 30 BEU units Second Year Biblical Studies (Associate Certificate) Total of 60 BEU Third Year Biblical Studies (Ministry Diploma) – Total of 90 BEU Fourth Year Ministry Graduate (Graduate Diploma) – Total of 120 BEU

Bible Doctrine/Theology subjects (BDT) and MinistryTraining subjects (MIN) –Required for credentials

The following subjects are required for those who seek credentials with the NYC FG TS Ministers Association. Unlike the Affordable Bible Studies, BIB subjects, these subjects would require a textbook cost along with your personal study bible. The fee required for each subject is for grading the students’ work, completion card record, supervision, and initial set up. The textbook average cost is about $5.00 to 14.00 and shipping and mail cost depend upon the weight and bulk of that mail. An average estimate for mail cost would be about $5.00 to $8.00 – the student must pay any difference in mail and book cost charges. The student only pays for that mail cost through US Postal Services.

BIB 213 Tithes/Fees and Alms: The basic principals from the Bible which concern the Tithes, Fees and giving to the poor (Alms) examined from Biblical truth and doctrine.

BIB 214 The Lordship of Jesus Christ and His New Testament Church: The study begins with Part one – Jesus Christ, His Galilean and Judean ministries, His life, ministry, and death and resurrection. The second part investigates the New Testament Church as it was from the book of Acts. This study looks into various ministries of the Church, such as the duties of: Pastors, Bishops, Deacons, and other leaders. It discusses the principals of Church sacraments, such as: Communion, Baptism, Marriage.

BIB 216 The Gifts of the Spirit The subject deals with the various personal gifts and ministry Gifts by which the Holy Spirit has distributed to the Body of Christ.

BIB 217 The Fruit of the Spirit The subject is an in-depth investigation of the nine fruit of the Holy Spirit as recorded in the book of Galatians, (Gal. 5:22-26).

BIB 218 The Baptism of the Holy Spirit The subject covers the doctrine of the baptism of the Holy Spirit on believers, and if the doctrine is for all believers and why?

BDT 320 Bible Doctrine/Theology 1 – covers the doctrines of: God, the Father, God, the Son, God , the Holy Spirit and the Trinity as one God.

BDT 321 Bible Doctrine/Theology 2 - The subject deals with the doctrines of the: Scriptures, Man, Angels, Fallen angels.

BDT 322 Bible Doctrine/Theology 3 - Covers the doctrines of the bible with regard to: Salvation, The Church, and the events of the second coming of Jesus Christ.

MIN 100 Christian Worker Training – The subject is an in-depth study of the principals and Practices of Christian workers as they attend to the needs of the local church Ministries and functions of ministerial duties as they assist the local pastor.

MIN 101 Ministry Training 1 – A training course for assistant or associate pastor. The Course covers: responsibilities, duties and calling, minister involvement in Church work.

MIN 102 Ministry Training 2 - This subject explains specific duties for license ministers. It explains the ministry for those who are being called out to serve in an Independent work for God, such as: Preacher, Teacher, or Evangelist.

MIN 103 Ministry Training 3 – The course prepares one for ordination as a Pastor. Topics Include: Church Government, Church Administrations, Ministerial Ethics, Ministerial duties and services, Church finances and legal law, and more.

MIN 104 Effective Church Ministry The course is a building block subject which helps All Christian leaders to understand the nuts and bolts of building an effective Church in the 21st century.

MIN 105 Fundamentals of Preaching - This course enables the student to understand the basic principals of building an effective and powerful sermon. The student learns the various types of sermon’s they may use. They learn the principals of: preparation, personal study, delivery of the message and ministering to the church’s needs.

MIN 106 Fundamentals of Teaching - The course is a basic of how to teach effectively. Topics include: Preparation, Personal study, Techniques, delivery and Student responses. MIN 107 The Pastor and the Sheep - This subject is a pastoral theology of ministry. Topics

Include: The Pastor and his call, the Pastor and his life and vocation, the Pastor and his Family and friends, the Pastor and his church, the sheep of the pastor,

(his congregation), as well as many other topics. The course is strictly taken from the Bible itself, as well as insight from other writers and personal experiences.

MIN 108 Principals of Counseling and Care This subject investigates the basics of Christian counseling and ministerial cares for the members of the local church___________________________________________________________________________
