• Functional skills: sessions to revise their Trade Theory concepts and
understanding of the subject
• Behavioural skills: sessions on Personality Development aspects like etiquettes,
table manners, general grooming and behavioral tips
• Communication skills: special classes to help understand English language.

• Deserving apprentices offered employment in the organisation
• Over the last four years, 125 apprentices absorbed as skilled workers in regular
employment, across various trades

• Intiated Welding courses free of cost for the needy and underprivileged youth
• Pilot batch of 20 students started on 16th Jan 2012. 6 students are from the
targeted communities.

• In 2008 – 09, Godrej supported the initiative of CII-YI on Employability
• Help from Dr. Reddy’s Foundation’s taken to run customized training
programmes under the banner of LABS (Livelihood Advancement Business
School) for underprivileged and marginalized youth
• 135 students trained over three batches in two streams, of which 30 from
targetted communities
• Customer Relations and Sales (55nos.)
• Hospitality (80nos.)

• Godrej Vending business unit providing training and employment opportunities.
Target group is about 60 percent of the total workforce engaged on service
providers’ rolls
• Technical training in servicing and operational use of the vending machines at
dedicated training centres
• Training on communication in English language for better communication during
customer interactions
• Training for maintaining hygiene and tips on personal grooming
• Uniforms provided
EDUCATION Support to FAEA

• Contribution of Rs. 8.9 lakh in September 2011 to Foundation for Academic
Access & Excellence (FAEA), a CII partner providing scholarships to meritorious
under privileged students for higher studies.
• Four students sponsored for four years through FAEA:
• Rameshbhai G.Kukadia, Ahmedabad, Gujarat for B.Tech
• Ratilal S. Makwana, Surendranagar, Gujarat for higher studies in Medicine
• Kanchanbhai D. Bhagat, Ankleshwar, Gujarat for higher studies in Social
Development
• Abhimanyu A. Kambale, Pune for higher studies in Research Science
