Design Studio I

Design Intent:

Our design project was to design an orphanage. I chose the type

of having an institution orphanage. My design theme was “work

to gain” as the orphans had their own farm that they plant and

they can sell what they have as a source of fund to them. My

orphanage included:

1- 2 residential cluster (one for boys and one for girls)

2- One common studying unit

3- One common eating area

4- Training center in which they can learn the methods of

planting with a trial crop area.

5- Administration building.

6- Sports facilities

7- Changing rooms

As to be suitable with my concept, I chose the Classic

Mediterranean style as a theme of elevations.
